Hey guys im new here so be nice

Ive got an interview at telewest in attcliffe tomorrow and need a bit of help..

Firstly Directions.. How do I get there? I'll be starting off at Rotherham bus station so any buses straight from there? Or will I have to go to meadowhall first.. thankfully I should be gettin a new car soon!

Second.. Does anyone work there and can you give me some advice for my interview.. I've just passed the phone interview and I have an interview at 10am tomorrow. The role Im being interviewd for is customer service AND sales.. apparently its target based and the pay starts at around 14K rather than 12 for the normal customer service roles.

And I am aware that call centres are no fun.. its not a long term plan but I need some cash pronto! :help:

Hi I work at Telewest, been here 2 years.

it's one of the best call centres Ive ever worked at, the people are great, its a relaxed atmosphere and the incentives are brilliant.

just be yourself and you'll be fine, remember whoever interviews you are just looking for someone with a bit of initiative and relaxed confidence.

Good Luck!

Tam

Thanks for the advice but I dont plan on staying forever.. I just need a well paid job in a hurry! I am aware of the consequences of crap hours as i currently work in meadowhall where I do the worst shift ever 5pm til 9pm.. what a waste of time.. 4 hours pay at a rate of 4.60 an hour.. plus I have to pay 3.50 for bus fares.. and get myself somethin to drink.. its hardly worth showin up.. Im not sure what department I'll be on but they did say I'd need to be available until 8pm, rather than the 10pm I was told for the one I originally applied for.

try to ignore folks like that, if you don't enjoy the job, go somewhere else...

Yes you get paid for training - 12000 PA rising to 13450 after qualification on the Broadband licence, rising again to 154000 for qualification on to Advance Broadband Licence.

not forgetting free staff services, and new discounts (involing a certain mobile company owned by a certain british entrepreneur) that I can't mention on here!

I used to work there almost a year ago in Customer Care. I only stuck it out 6 months and I hated every second of it. I ended up getting a displinary during my 4 weeks training just for speaking my mind. I hated the abuse you got from Customers, I got very little or no support, the amount of arse-licking that went off between fellow collegues and so-called 'Senior' exec.

Some people loved it. I thought it was Hell on earth.

If you've not done call centre work before then you might like it, but just be prepard.

It's going to be rebranded "Virgin Fourplay" or "Virgin Quadplay" and I'm going to have to sell the thing :|

not forgetting don't say "hi" say "hello"
not forgetting don't forget to say "is there anything else i can help you with"

not forgetting that you will be expected to park your personality outside so that every call you take sounds like a broken record.

not forgetting the hitler-esque "managers" who are more often nothing more than jumped up teenagers (mainly female) who have had no previous management experience and think they own the place.

not forgetting ...... don't do it!!

It's not that bad working there,

Well not if you can put up with people moaning at you 24/7,

The best thing about the place is the staff and the some of the management, everything you do in the job sucks and drains all the life from you.

My advice is to go for it, it is the people you work with that make the job after all, but just be prepared for Mr or Mrs Nasty on the phone pretty much most of the time.

Good Luck with the interview.
