I caught one winner, once. He was given a piece of paper, and the castle caught fire.

Sue, mystified.

LMAO... it's a great programme. Japanese self torture inflicting meets western contenders and some good humour thrown in.

This should be on prime time telly IMO!

This shows gets:-
:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup: out of 5 from me!

I've known about this programme for years. I agree, it's very, very funny! I think if they win they get ¥1million.

We need a show to rival it, like it's a knockout extreme or something like that.

Great show!

yup i agree that'd be reeet funny

we're pretty creative in this country i reckon we'd come up with some really funny yet quite odd games! although T C is very japanesesque so dunno if it would work as good

Yeah the stepping Stones and the big rollers that they have to run accross are the most painful-looking, and therefore funniest.

We saw this for the first time this febuary when we were on holiday in Florida

Over there they call it MXC and have two blokes, Vic Romano and Kenny Blankenship, doing a voice over that had us in stiches.

We made sure that we left the Disney parks early so we could go for a meal and get back to the villa in time for MXC on Spike TV every night.

They have catch phrases that the kids latched on to and we have had to put up with "right you are ken" and "indeed" ever since.

Saw it here once and it sounded like Craig Charles doing the voice over, wasn't half as good.

If you go there look out for it.

Just got the old Telewest cable upgraded to their essential package and I'm now hooked on this rubbish Japanese gameshow on Challenge TV.

It's a bit like It's a Knockout but with more pain.

Anyone else watch it, and if so do you agree that a UK version with Stuart Hall at the helm would be a winner?

Yeah, a mate gives my son video tapes full of it.. it's no brainer genius LOL

Why don't Japanese people get hurt? There must be hours of unseen footage with these gumbies being carried off for shin transplants and new scalps.

It's car crash TV isn't it?

You wouldn't happen to be the same 'Wavey' currently winning my E-bay auction?

No.. I'm not called Wavey on Ebay.. though I am on there way too much.

I doubt it would be allowed in the UK to be honest!

If you laugh at the muppets (descriptive term ;) ) on the home video shows then you will no doubt also enjoy Takeshi's Castle... perfect for filling the 30 minutes when Sky's 200+ other channels don't have anything on! :hihi:

Someone may have beaten me to this bump ( Geoff:P ) But I love this and want to be on it one day.

Edit: Yes I do get bored of the many, many shopping channels and the re run after re run of re runs.

Do, do re-run, run. Do, do re-run!
