BrainThrust 27-06-2004, 22:55 It has been better in the evening that during the afternoon. Not sure why but maybe it is the whole atmosphere rather than broadcasting. i think the BBC has done well though Wavey 28-06-2004, 10:06 I think what I've seen has been pretty good really. I thought Oasis looked back to some sort of form and Franz Ferdinand were fantastic.. I've got to go and see them. I even enjoyed Basement jaxx even theough they're not my cup of tea, but I was ****** at the time.. I always have liked John Peels view on things and Jo Whiley is relaxed and not all 'in your face' like some of the more exciteable younger Saturday morning style presenters. Sidla 28-06-2004, 15:30 I really can't stand Jo Whiley to be honest. I wanted to see the entire Oasis set, but as far as I'm aware, they didn't show it. igm1 28-06-2004, 18:18 yeah I wanted to see the whole set of the headliners, I would have thought that the BBC would have let that happen. Cols 28-06-2004, 21:50 Most of the time it is the organisers and promoters who dictate what can and can't be shown. I watched nearly an hour of Paul McCartney so I'm happy with the Beeb. claiireee 30-06-2004, 12:42 I thought it was good coverage. I like watching on BBC2 as they show more bizzare stuff, things that I wouldn't normally tune into to watch. There' are things on the BBC website, I'm not sure if you can catch the whole headiner sets on there? HotPhil 30-06-2004, 13:13 Really enjoyed it this year. Especially the interactive choose-the-stage thing. It was a shame that they absolutely completely ruined it on the last evening for me. I taped BBC3 because they were going to be showing the Muse set and I was knackered so went to bed. Watching the tape the next evening, I couldn't believe what they did!!!! I mean, I'd taped BBC3 to watch the Muse set and then halfway through they say "If you want to carry on watching Muse, switch to BBC2 as we're now going to show the Orbital set from the other stage". Then ten minutes later they manage to push the "unbelievable" factor even higher by switching them back again (i.e. Muse back on BBC3, Orbital back on BBC2)!!!!! What was the point of that!!!!! I don't have anything against Orbital and I'm all for being exposed to different types of music, but how did the BBC manage to think doing this was a good idea? It defies all logic. Ruined the whole thing for me..... Wavey 30-06-2004, 13:43 I'll bet it was to stop people taping it successfully. claiireee 30-06-2004, 13:45 For people who don't have BBC3 to be able to see a variety of acts! HotPhil 30-06-2004, 17:14 For people who don't have BBC3 to be able to see a variety of acts! Not quite, because what they did was put what WAS on BBC2 ON BBC3 and vice versa. They could have left BBC3 alone and just TOLD BBC3 viewers what was on BBC2. But then I suppose I'd be bitchin' that I didn't tape what was on BBC2..... I know they have the ultimate "....can't please ALL the people ALL of the time" job, but the way they did this pointless swap-over just annoyed people who would have otherwise not been annoyed. |
