Is this still on on Tuesdays? Is anyone going this week? If you are, let me know, taking a few friends and would love to have some guys who are willing to dance :-)

We still go regularly although I've had to miss a couple of sessions this month because of work and volunteering committments..

I go every week Lianndi ! ... make sure you come and say hi if you see me there.

Saw both of you there though Martin didnt say hi! :P

There was an advert in the metro for this event and the prices were quoted wrongly as £1.50 and £2.00 respectively, however when we got there the prices were nearly double that! So I had to have a few choice words with the 'doorman' - the whole principle thing nah

I had a great time, I wish the music was a bit more uptempo though....and that people had more fun!!!! Dance...not count lol

might go back again..and get there early next time :thumbsup:

Glad you had a good time overall though, despite the hiccup money wise... It's worth becoming a member though.. £2 a session ain't so bad :)

Saw Jamie and Lianndi but didn't see Martin.
I was spectacting to see what to do but will definetly join in next week.

I was there, but too dosed up on painkillers to notice anything that was going on.

Hey come on, don't dodge... The money goes towards paying for the venue.. the teachers are doing it for nought you know..

We weren't that bad, we didn't dance, we just went to see what it was like before taking part.

Going again tomorrow, but i'm not wearing a flower in my hair :P

I'm going this week (tonight), though I don't think it's been that good recently.

EDIT: in case anyone's interested in knowing who I am I'm short (5'7), longish brown hair, in stripey t shirt and dark tracksuit bottoms.... no flower in hair.

This class is taking the fun out of salsa-ing. All this counting, the huge classes where u can't see anything unless you push your way to the front, and the predatory males....takes the fun out of a dance that is supposed to be spontaneous and sexy!

Will give it a rest for a little while :-)

still wanna go.. n have finally found a friend who is more than willing to give it a shot (although i have seen him dance before:loopy: ) but could anyone possibly remind us of the times etc... pleeeese X

It was OK, but like I said I don't find it as fun as I used to. There's a difference salsa night on thursdays on eccleshall road that I might start going along to instead or as well as.

Yep Adelante is going throughout the summer. It's been a really good vibe there the last few weeks. I dunno about the salsa classes as that is before I get there.....

I was looking out for someone with a flower in their hair and still no joy so you're going to have to come up and intro' yourself :P

As for the predatory guys... well Jamie can't help it... heh... Joke! :D but seriously, most of the guys there are generally pretty cool, you get the odd idiot everywhere but they're easily spotted and avoided it you're blunt ;)

Anyways, the thing about the classes is that that's the purpose of the evening until about 10 or so.. t'is a class after all.. not the best venue but I know Jamie can give a few tips on alternative venues and nights... If you're just there to dance then the 10:30 and after slot is definitely for you...

Ah well... I'll be there as usual this week so life goes on :)

Who goes to the Salsa night at the Forum in town on a Tues either to learn Salsa and/or dance Salsa or just go down and strut their stuff (salsa dance or not!) and what do you think of it?

I used to go to salsa classes on a Monday night and ventured into the Forum for the social dancing once. It's good, but it gets very crowded.

It is friendly though, and people do swap partners. Are you thinking of going?

cant really salsa, tried it a few times. been to the forum a few times and its packed and i dance (my style!) to the funky beat!

Loads of people there and good fun, give it a try

any sort of Forum outing to next week's? I'd love to get back into it but have lsot motivation since the two girls I used to go with gave it up :(

I would be very weary of Salsa at the Forum, although it's good fun you can get some extremely sleazy old men trying it on.

Always the way, isn't it? Some desperados need an excuse like salsa to get within 30 metres of a woman. I usually find a stiletto on the toe does the trick.

To be honest I'm more of a gig person but I would like to take some kind of dance lessons like salsa just for fun. When I do go dancing it tends to be to a union night or somewhere like Leadmill but I am not a big club fan.
