Yes, and then attacking the neighbours house - how stupid is that - they still have to live next to it! And how does that help the kids?

It's like that business in Portsmouth (?) a few years ago where the locals attacked the house of a Paediatrician during some Paedophile witch-hunt.

Mob rule is a dreadful thing - and becomes increasingly popular because people tend to be very easily whipped up in to a frenzy these days.

Is that the same one where the woman leading the hunt left her kids at home on their own, while she was out mouthing off in front of the T.V cameras.

Council estate pikey's, dont ya love em.

The same....

Not all Council Estates are like that - I hail from one originally...but I guess that was 24 years ago I left it!

But yep, there are some truly wonderful sub-human beings around. And yes, I am a bit elitest sometimes!

My thoughts exactly. This just didn't happen overnight. Neighbours must have noticed that these children weren't being cared for properly so why on earth didn't they report them.

Haven't read the article in the papers but surely the 'authorities' must have had some dealings with the family over the years. Didn't school have suspicions or the family doctor?

I agree with mo completely

Can't understand how five children can just slip through the net, what happened to health visitors, doctors etc

My baby boy is the same age as those twins and it makes me feel sick to think about it

And its all very well for the neighbours to smash the windows now, surely they must have seen something before

Doesnt bear thinking about

Yeah I was brought up on a bit of a rough council estate along with a big percentage of my mates and we turned out alright..

Any road up, I can't see how attacking the house now does any good to anyone. Perhaps people should have taken as much interest while the 'parents' were abusing the kids.
Isn't there a strong case for the authorities to steralise these no marks when it MUST have been apparent at an early stage that they are/were incapable of looking after kids? No one will make a decision these days. There is always someone there to argue their case, that having 5 children when you're only capable of signing for your benefits, is acceptable.
I hope the two babies survive to forget about their woeful parents.

Has anybody considered that the parents may be in the situation they're in because of past care in the community policies? It may well be that the couple are special needs and deserving of our sympathy rather than our condemnation.

That's why they shouldn't have been able to have kids in the first place and now they have, at least been monitored by the local authorities, before the situation got out of hand like that.

What are you suggesting? Compulsory sterilisation? How do you decide who "deserves" sterilising? How do you do it - spike their food or force them into hospital for the op?

They are well known on the estate. What they need is some of the same treatment they dished out to the kids.

You speak as though you have local knowledge of this family. Why was nothing done by the residents until after the authorities had acted? Did you report them to social services? If so, well done.

Both of them have been remanded again....no application for bail from either - they know they've done wrong and know whats waiting for them if they pop up on the estate again.
