"Researchers would not disclose the German boy’s identity but said he was born to a somewhat muscular mother, a 24-year-old former professional sprinter. Her brother and three other close male relatives all were unusually strong, with one of them a construction worker able to unload heavy curbstones by hand."

What else do you do in your spare time?????

The body bubbles and the mind boggles!!!

It would be interesting though if his defective gene could help others with a different defective gene.

It would be interesting to see what he grows up like, and if this has any other effects on him too.

interesting points, though you do not see all his form so other abnormalities could easily be disclosed.

like all research there is a + & - .

on this subject, future warnings mentioned.

ginee pig, guinee pig, gonnee pig springs to mind....

Yes a full view of what he was like from different angles would have been better to judge if he had any other abnormalities. It is unusual for there just to be one effect from a defective gene. They should do reseach into the drug but keep an eye on him as well though. He could suffer with other things as he gets older.

If they do develop a drug from it , it should only be used to treat people with illness like muscular dystrophy and not by athletes, surely this would be considered cheating anyway.

These genetic diseases need to be able to be treated or tested for before birth so that people have the choice to have a termination or prepare themselves for having a baby with an illness.
