View Full Version : What is the one first thing that attracts you to a woman?

Following on from reading the "what attracts you to a man?" thread, I thought about trying to determine what it is that first attracts me to a girl.

To be honest, I'm struggling to think of something. I know when a girl is attractive to me, but am not sure if there are any common factors for me that I would consider attractive. I like nice shoulders on a girl, but am not sure if that would be the first thing to attract me to someone.

So I'm looking for other opinions. Plus, I'm bored and looking for something to do.

thanks

Surely u must think about it. Over a period of time, it'll be the same things that u notice about a girl. No ?

That's the thing- the more I think about it then the more confused I get. I'm looking around our office now and can list about five people that I would class as attractive to me, but for five different reasons.

Maybe I just have less discriminating tastes, though I don't think so.

Usually, I just know a girl is attractive, then after that I have to try to work out why.

Tall women do it for me. Obviously there are various other bits and bobs which I find more, or less attractive, but above-average height is a pre-requisite.

Why would you want to work out why exactly she was attractive to you though - isn't it enough to know that she IS attractive to you? When you start to analyse something, you can sometimes take all the life out of it and spoil it.

If we always found exactly the same sort of person attractive, then we might as well design a robot-person clone-type-thing for ourselves and be done with it!

ok, a bit over the top there, but the principle stands..... :hihi:

I find this as well, a certain style, a confidence, a bearing. Contrast with a woman who used to work here who had all the "usual" attractive attributes. Tall, blonde, pretty, long legs, nice bum but did absolutely nothing for me whatsoever because she'd slope around all day looking miserable.

I am totally the other way, I love small women, preferably ones that don`t think they are on the catwalk! I do not like extrovert women, the leggy look-at-me blonde with the brain that time forgot. The dinky females are lovely and set my hormones alight.  Nurse, the screens!:hihi:

Yeah, I know what you're saying, and disagree with you on no points really. It just seems strange to a lot of people that I don't have a specific type (other than female) and determine attractiveness on an ad hoc basis.

I don't see the problem with that? I think it says a lot for you that you - 'judge' for want of a better word - each woman on her own merits, rather than trying to place her into a stereotypical box.

We are each of us different, and it's just laziness to label people as a certain 'type'. I think you're spot-on Hoba in how you look at people. After all, with regard to attraction, surely what really matters between people is the chemistry they generate together, and that's something you can't know about until it happens!

Personally for me:

I'm not into looks as I think that is very shallow, so I prefer someone's personality and if they can stimulate me mentally, could be talking about absolutely anything but thats a big plus for me.

Also- I like people with confidence, and people who are independent as well.
I want someone with their own opinions and ideas and someone who is not affraid to stand up for themselves.

Like I said, I dont mind the physical side at all- I also dont mind age as well.
:)

I agree wholeheartedly about the personality thing, but ultimately you have to find the person physically attractive too, surely? I'm not saying that s/he should be conventionally attractive, but without that spark - of which I think physical attraction is a component - you're left with nothing but a very good friend.

You can stay up all night putting the world to rights with someone who stimulates you mentally, who shares your opinions and ideas. Great as this is it's hardly the only requirement for a relationship. Bill Hicks was witty, intelligent and I shared a lot of his apparent ideals; but I wouldn't have wanted to, well, you know... :) .

Let's see. Not too bad.

Main points:

First letter of a sentence should have a capital letter.
You've missed an apostrophe out of I'm.
You need to capitalize the personal pronoun 'I' .

Well, there's this template that is instilled in any woman's head, and a little bell go 'ring-ga-ling-ling' when she spots a classic example which fits this template. ;)

*Cough*
Well... back to the original thread.
Even though I'm a girl, I'm attracted to a woman who is gutsy. (Not attraction on a sexual level, but respect, in a way.) I don't particularly like a grown up woman who is *really* childish and girlish in front of me. I'm not their bf, so when a girl begs and be girly. It turns me right off !

I couldn't put my finger on one particular thing that is more likely to turn my head, but I do place the ability to hold a conversation very highly. I like girls who aren't self obsessed, have a level head and who are reasonably intelligent.

I think he meant old A-level GCEs.
There's an old O-level GCE too.

I think Brummiade and myself is definitely old ! lol...

Then once I've got to know her I find that I start to like each facet of her body more and more as time goes on.....it's about the best application of the term 'learning curve' I can think of, and I love it.

I'm currently going through this process, and boy is it fun :D

:gag: :gag: :gag: Get a grip, man! :gag: :gag: :gag:

Good job she's only little and doesn't have many curves for you to learn ;)

The old system was GCE (General Certificate of Education) O (Ordinary) Level and GCE A (Advanced) Level.

So, you're both right.

Back to the thread topic...

Just one more point - there is no way Rodney Trotter passed an A level or equivilent, so I'm right.

Neil wins.

Fact.

my my my ive opened a rite can of worms here.

What attracts me to a woman...
-her smile
-sense of humour - which has just been highlighted on this thread - the women involved with the banter earlier...i find you all strangely attractive.

Tall women do it for me. Obviously there are various other bits and bobs which I find more, or less attractive, but above-average height is a pre-requisite.

I'm 5'10 - tall enough for you?/ ;)

There is no reductionist, unitary answer to this important question, at least as far as I am concerned. I am initially attracted to both the woman's face and to her buttocks, being what is known in common parlance as something of an 'arse man' [at least I think that is what my wife called me]. However, both areas can blur beautifully into a glorious oneness, as in the case of my dear wife, Jennifer Lopez, Beyonce etc.

Perhaps I should have said "plus heels". Not that I have a fetish or anything. Oh no.

Yes you can spot it. You just have to know what to look for.

What's attractive about certain women ? .....Well......er ..... if they're driving a nice little ferrari , that can be attractive ; a mink coat always adds allure to the female personality , I think . Now , what else ......? Oh , yes , if they live in a bit of style in Dore or Mayfield Valley , that makes them practically irresistable . A couple of servants wouldn't go amiss either , or a small hideaway in Mayfair .
Age , face , legs , body ? No problem and completely irrelevant to the true worshipper of the gentler sex .

Can I request that we stop this thread just above the level of the gutter?

Please try and bear in mind the 'family friendly' side of this place.

thanks

What's the problem no sense of humour?

You have been banned for the following reason:
Ignoring a Moderator request to try and keep the thread 'family friendly'.
Date the ban will be lifted: 15-08-2006, 08:00 PM

Bit trigger happy aren't you? If the thread is so family friendly and this post is so "bad" then why didn't you delete the post by Blade1983 that i replied to? :help:

I didn't add anything else than to say i thought it was amusing (class),with nothing added to make it any worse so the only reason to ban me is because i "ignored a Moderator" but considering i didn't do anything not to keep it family friendly then it shouldn't really matter!

If the post isn't family friendly then the fault is yours for not doing your role as moderator and deleting it!!! You can't say a thread or post isn't "family Friendly" and then leave it their for everyone to read.....including families!?!?:loopy:

Oh no i've just realised i've questioned a Mod again (whoops) that will be me banned again........oh well:hihi:
