View Full Version : What is the one first thing that attracts you to a woman?
Following on from reading the "what attracts you to a man?" thread, I thought about trying to determine what it is that first attracts me to a girl.
To be honest, I'm struggling to think of something. I know when a girl is attractive to me, but am not sure if there are any common factors for me that I would consider attractive. I like nice shoulders on a girl, but am not sure if that would be the first thing to attract me to someone.
So I'm looking for other opinions. Plus, I'm bored and looking for something to do.
thanks
Their hair and eyes, style, and of course - their bum :hihi:

I'd have to partly agree with x_sunshine_x but i wouldn't say bum its more like boobies :o :hihi: x
YakQueudrue 31-07-2006, 12:43 Dark hair and dark skinned, pretty face, and I personally are more of an arse man than tits.

Definately, their eyes never look at your face, they're always oggling a womans boobs.

:o the whole package would be great but I'm very picky.
I'm not a full lesbian obviously (cos I love boys) but if I was she would have to be perfect! :hihi:
See, this could be where my gender gets ripped into...:(

My sentiments exactly!

Don't worry; I misunderstood something is all. My mistake.:)
koenigsinger 31-07-2006, 12:53 its all about the way she's walking, if she's got her head held high, walking along confidently, and smiling especially, my head immediately turns and I want to know more, after that the parts all fit into place or they dont....

Surely u must think about it. Over a period of time, it'll be the same things that u notice about a girl. No ?
Surely u must think about it. Over a period of time, it'll be the same things that u notice about a girl. No ?
That's the thing- the more I think about it then the more confused I get. I'm looking around our office now and can list about five people that I would class as attractive to me, but for five different reasons.
Maybe I just have less discriminating tastes, though I don't think so.
Usually, I just know a girl is attractive, then after that I have to try to work out why.
Tall women do it for me. Obviously there are various other bits and bobs which I find more, or less attractive, but above-average height is a pre-requisite.

Why would you want to work out why exactly she was attractive to you though - isn't it enough to know that she IS attractive to you? When you start to analyse something, you can sometimes take all the life out of it and spoil it.
If we always found exactly the same sort of person attractive, then we might as well design a robot-person clone-type-thing for ourselves and be done with it!
ok, a bit over the top there, but the principle stands..... :hihi:

I find this as well, a certain style, a confidence, a bearing. Contrast with a woman who used to work here who had all the "usual" attractive attributes. Tall, blonde, pretty, long legs, nice bum but did absolutely nothing for me whatsoever because she'd slope around all day looking miserable.
Sweetcheeks 31-07-2006, 14:03 Tall women do it for me. Obviously there are various other bits and bobs which I find more, or less attractive, but above-average height is a pre-requisite. I am totally the other way, I love small women, preferably ones that don`t think they are on the catwalk! I do not like extrovert women, the leggy look-at-me blonde with the brain that time forgot. The dinky females are lovely and set my hormones alight.  Nurse, the screens!:hihi:

Yeah, I know what you're saying, and disagree with you on no points really. It just seems strange to a lot of people that I don't have a specific type (other than female) and determine attractiveness on an ad hoc basis.
NEKRO138 31-07-2006, 14:08 Eyes, brighter the better.
First thing that attracts me to a woman? Her husband :D
the fact she's breathing works for me.

Sorry, I missed something off. I also look for a metallic face and parsley.
Ahh... no wonder it's a case of, men see ALL women as potentials, but women see men as friends OR potentials. I get it. ;)

Smithster 31-07-2006, 14:27 I don't have a specific type (other than female) and determine attractiveness on an ad hoc basis.
Seconded mate. I don't have a type as such, I've always found myself attracted to girls who just seem to have something about them that I can't quite put my finger on. I think it's in the eyes and the smile.
I find this as well, a certain style, a confidence, a bearing. ...
Is that like 120 degrees North?

I don't see the problem with that? I think it says a lot for you that you - 'judge' for want of a better word - each woman on her own merits, rather than trying to place her into a stereotypical box.
We are each of us different, and it's just laziness to label people as a certain 'type'. I think you're spot-on Hoba in how you look at people. After all, with regard to attraction, surely what really matters between people is the chemistry they generate together, and that's something you can't know about until it happens!

Savannah2 31-07-2006, 17:05 Personality for me, if she has brunette hair, not too big boobs and nice eyes and about 5ft6" then that could well be heaven for me....hope you read this Soph, u know I'm talking about u. :hihi:

Me on men in a nice pair of jeans :)
Mr Prime 01-08-2006, 00:15 Their hair and eyes, style, and of course - their bum :hihi:
They have to have style which is why fake tan and Top Slop clothing is a no no for me.
A face with character at least and a good line in conversation, no that does not include shoes.
Personally for me:
I'm not into looks as I think that is very shallow, so I prefer someone's personality and if they can stimulate me mentally, could be talking about absolutely anything but thats a big plus for me.
Also- I like people with confidence, and people who are independent as well.
I want someone with their own opinions and ideas and someone who is not affraid to stand up for themselves.
Like I said, I dont mind the physical side at all- I also dont mind age as well.
:)
...I'm not into looks as I think that is very shallow, so I prefer someone's personality and if they can stimulate me mentally, could be talking about absolutely anything but thats a big plus for me....
I agree wholeheartedly about the personality thing, but ultimately you have to find the person physically attractive too, surely? I'm not saying that s/he should be conventionally attractive, but without that spark - of which I think physical attraction is a component - you're left with nothing but a very good friend.
You can stay up all night putting the world to rights with someone who stimulates you mentally, who shares your opinions and ideas. Great as this is it's hardly the only requirement for a relationship. Bill Hicks was witty, intelligent and I shared a lot of his apparent ideals; but I wouldn't have wanted to, well, you know... :) .

infact - everything!!!!
The way a woman smells does it for me. If she smells nice I'd turn round immediately. Slightly tanned, a bit taller than me, brunette with blue eyes, a nice pair of boobs, and not too slim/not too fat.
Not too overconfident, not thick. Just someone I can talk to about a variety of things.
leg_luvva 01-08-2006, 12:32 Well for me it would be good legs and i like an unusal face.
Jabberwocky 01-08-2006, 12:35 Eyes. I love a woman with eyes that you could fall into. Natalie Wood, the actress had eyes like that.

Let's see. Not too bad.
Main points:
First letter of a sentence should have a capital letter.
You've missed an apostrophe out of I'm.
You need to capitalize the personal pronoun 'I' .

"English" with a capital E because it is a proper noun.

Well, there's this template that is instilled in any woman's head, and a little bell go 'ring-ga-ling-ling' when she spots a classic example which fits this template. ;)
*Cough*
Well... back to the original thread.
Even though I'm a girl, I'm attracted to a woman who is gutsy. (Not attraction on a sexual level, but respect, in a way.) I don't particularly like a grown up woman who is *really* childish and girlish in front of me. I'm not their bf, so when a girl begs and be girly. It turns me right off !
brummieade 01-08-2006, 13:19 so er, yeah i reckon the thread has died.
Bago - yes English does in fact have a capital E.
Hecate - very funny - i think you should have your own TV show. (Ok, T.V.)
Saylou - yes dear, your teeth are fine and so what if i'm single...for the time being it suits me fine....for the time being i said...
Thank you all who participated in this thread...you have made me see that my English A level is about as useful as Rodney Trotters GCE (the old a levels i believe) and i feel that it would be of more use working as a street cleaner.
I couldn't put my finger on one particular thing that is more likely to turn my head, but I do place the ability to hold a conversation very highly. I like girls who aren't self obsessed, have a level head and who are reasonably intelligent.
Then once I've got to know her I find that I start to like each facet of her body more and more as time goes on.....it's about the best application of the term 'learning curve' I can think of, and I love it.
I'm currently going through this process, and boy is it fun :D

So, you're both right.

Brunette 01-08-2006, 16:19 Tall women do it for me. Obviously there are various other bits and bobs which I find more, or less attractive, but above-average height is a pre-requisite.

I'd agree with that.... something about gingers!
There is no reductionist, unitary answer to this important question, at least as far as I am concerned. I am initially attracted to both the woman's face and to her buttocks, being what is known in common parlance as something of an 'arse man' [at least I think that is what my wife called me]. However, both areas can blur beautifully into a glorious oneness, as in the case of my dear wife, Jennifer Lopez, Beyonce etc.
Certainly! With heels...
Perhaps I should have said "plus heels". Not that I have a fetish or anything. Oh no.
syko1979 02-08-2006, 16:06 If she looks like she has no morals at all.
Yes you can spot it. You just have to know what to look for.
What's attractive about certain women ? .....Well......er ..... if they're driving a nice little ferrari , that can be attractive ; a mink coat always adds allure to the female personality , I think . Now , what else ......? Oh , yes , if they live in a bit of style in Dore or Mayfield Valley , that makes them practically irresistable . A couple of servants wouldn't go amiss either , or a small hideaway in Mayfair .
Age , face , legs , body ? No problem and completely irrelevant to the true worshipper of the gentler sex .
miniminch 02-08-2006, 16:09 If she looks like she has no morals at all.

Can I request that we stop this thread just above the level of the gutter?
Please try and bear in mind the 'family friendly' side of this place.
thanks

My apologies - I took it too far!
BasilRathbon 03-08-2006, 12:07 I'm amazed it took 9 pages to degenerate!
Heels I CAN do! Cheerfully, as long as I haven't got a 5 foot nothing bloke on my arm
Wonderful! If only you were single, nearly thirty and with brown hair, you would be my perfect woman! But that just couldn't be possible could it?

I'd be there, except I'm not single and I don't think me bloke would like to share! I can do heels too, but I dwarf most people even without them.
I like a nice straight parting.
BrainThrust 04-08-2006, 12:05 I'm putty in a dark haired woman's hands
It's the only time I shut up lol.
Wilf
I don't think me bloke would like to share!
Surely it wouldn't do any harm to ask him?
KingMaker 04-08-2006, 12:40 The first thing that attracts has got to be the face.

Oh dear. There's always soemone who has to revisit the gutter.
Please don't - it would be nice to keep this thread open if possible.
Thank you.
Livewirex 12-08-2006, 19:28 Its different for everyone i found and married mine 38 years ago. You will know when you find her. Perhaps we need a thread on how you survive being with the same partner for all those years?

What's the problem no sense of humour?
You have been banned for the following reason:
Ignoring a Moderator request to try and keep the thread 'family friendly'.
Date the ban will be lifted: 15-08-2006, 08:00 PM
Bit trigger happy aren't you? If the thread is so family friendly and this post is so "bad" then why didn't you delete the post by Blade1983 that i replied to? :help:
I didn't add anything else than to say i thought it was amusing (class),with nothing added to make it any worse so the only reason to ban me is because i "ignored a Moderator" but considering i didn't do anything not to keep it family friendly then it shouldn't really matter!
If the post isn't family friendly then the fault is yours for not doing your role as moderator and deleting it!!! You can't say a thread or post isn't "family Friendly" and then leave it their for everyone to read.....including families!?!?:loopy:
Oh no i've just realised i've questioned a Mod again (whoops) that will be me banned again........oh well:hihi:
