I work for a bank, Atm= automated transaction machine in the Uk in America is means Automated teller machine.

The reason I didn't understand was that only people who don't really know what it stands for call it an ATM machine.

So that is a hole in the wall then, that isn't really a hole in the wall.

If it's run out of cash then technically it could be a hole in the wall.

Not true! I know what it means and I call it that. That's why I put it on here (obv).
