View Full Version : Something different for my birthday.
donuticus 28-07-2006, 21:10 Ok. Im 26 in two weeks time and I'm looking for something that me and a group of about 20 mates can do during the day. We've done paintball and go-karting. Money is not really a problem, as long as its not ridiculous and its got to be UK cos my brother is a wuss and wont flly.
Any suggestions woulkd be gratefully appreciated.
Rich
goodlife 28-07-2006, 21:17 Ok, find something to knock your brother out with and go to Amsterdam, he'll never know he's been on a plane - or stick him on a ship a few days in advance or forget to tell him your plans.
Seriously - helicopter rides? bungee jumping? All night camp out like when you was a kid in a field somewhere? Ice skating - ok, bit boring that one.
Out of ideas - what do you fancy doing?
downtroad 28-07-2006, 21:20 Amsterdam.
seriessix 28-07-2006, 21:22 Go by ferry.

Exactly go by ferry. It's cheap and a good laugh.
goodlife 28-07-2006, 21:27 OMG alebloodyloolya - i finally said something that people agreed with.
donuticus 28-07-2006, 21:33 Im almost certain my bro has no passport.

downtroad 28-07-2006, 21:36 Or if you are dead set against leaving England...
A Real race course, non of this go-cart stuff. Get a decent car or race car.
There is a place up near Newcastle, its a 5 star country club whith two clubs in the place. Clubbers from all over go, its a good laugh in a group.
Faily that go to a spa and everybody get colonic, thats always good fun with the boys.
What is your budget per person?
donuticus 28-07-2006, 21:43 What is your budget per person?
AS long as its not ridiculous pretty much whatever.
Im liking the racetrack idea, couple of my mates have lotus' and various other funky cars might pinch my dads tiger for the day.
But im still up for other suggestions.
Ok then I picked "up to £149" on Here (http: /www.communitynet.org.uk/SFStoryArchive/1154121535.rtf.) for you. I love the first one JCB Racing.
Oooooh, cowboy adventure too!
goodlife 28-07-2006, 21:49 he could get a passport in a day - trip out to Liverpool - passports are coming back in 10 days via the post office service.
Suppose it all depends on what sort of day out in Amsterdam you want though - if you are thinking canal rides and museums then maybe London would do just as well - if you like coffee and black bags then Amsterdams the place for you.
Balloon rides?
Blackpool? Well a good day out at the pleasure beach is a good laugh - maybe not then.
Sky-diving ? Off St Andrews ? (Cos the view apparently is better there.)
Or do what a friend did. Forgotten the name of the sport. Is it caving (?)
You go inside a cave, with a deep pool. You dive, and swim out. It's quite safe, and there are companies that organises it. Sometimes it can be an indoor waterfall.
You can go Zorbing. Only near Cornwall, I think. There's only a couple of places in the UK that do it. You roll down a hill in a giant ball of water.
If your friends are into racing and all that. Why not take your cars and try to race it at Silverstone ?
Rock-climbing in somewhere like Anglesey. The view is prettier, and it's so darn windy at the top ! Cos you're near the cliffs.
...You roll down a hill in a giant ball of water. ...
Good grief! So you're like a cross between a hamster and a goldfish? It's meant to be fun, right? :hihi: .
How about one of those outdoor activity centres? Rafting, canoeing etc etc.
Yes, exactly that. Apparently, it's all the rage in Australia and New Zealand.

Or attempt to jump across the 'Adam and Eve' near Snowdon (?)
Or even hang-gliding.
