The Swim-In is at the Glossop Road end of West Sreet ( that is going away from the city centre ) on the right hand side if you look towards town.
The Devonshire Cat runs parralel, two streets behind the Swim-Inn. Hope thats clear.
I can't help with which is best ,only been to the Cat.

ah i roughly know
to the right at the top as you come down towards town
other one on a road behind
bit clearer
CasaNova 28-07-2006, 19:16 The swim inn is generally cheaper than the Devonshire Cat. Seems more people are starting to go to the swim inn now, where as I think the Devonshire Cat has been empty for the last few weeks.
melthebell 28-07-2006, 19:18 yeah but it wont if they all come to meet me :P
errrrrm
*tries to fit head through door*
I dunno if they've rearranged the Swin Inn from a few years back but it felt like a school dining room with all the seats and tables arranged in lines. Dev Cat is cool though :)
melthebell 29-07-2006, 18:02 hmm i was thinking of the swimm inn too
cheaper and easier to find is swinging it :P
Do you remember the Glossop Road baths? (Surely you do! Call yerself a Sheffield lad?!) That's where the Swim Inn is now. :)

out of the two i prefer the devonshire cat a bit posher but more expensive and it has air con with how hot it's been lately is invaluable:gag:
SpiderPete 31-07-2006, 22:36 Why choose -- why don`t you do both pubs :)

You are beginning to sound and type like your bother :suspect: :suspect:
Or is he telling you what to key in, lol
Has the Swim Inn not shut down? I have passed it a few times in the last few months and seems to be no life in it.
carcrash 15-08-2006, 14:01 I was in there last week and it was open. I though it was a bit of a dump.

I heard they were turning it into public swimming baths.
The swim inn has zero atmosphere.. it's like drinking in a chav grotto with no windows
Draggletail 15-08-2006, 14:52 Now then mellthebell, just for you A map with the two pubs marked (http://homepages.nildram.co.uk/~draggle/downloads/map.bmp)
'cos I've nowt better to do. The Dev Cat is mrked with a red square, the swim inn a blue square.
Should be accurate to fifty yards.
You may notice I use K-Meleon browser these days - it's quicker than the fox :P
And no comments about zone alarm please ;)
scentral 15-08-2006, 15:06 Deffo the Cat! Bit dear but is usually a quality place. Wmim Inn is one of those Wetherspoony-type places where you'll find winos in at 11.00 am!
Swim Inn is great price-wise, I usually start there or Cavendish. Not somewhere I'd stay all night though.
Dev Cat is better atmosphere and decent if you are into Real Ale, also decent grub too
Easy answer - Neither. Both terrible full of skinflint saddos and both lack atmosphere, ambience, interest. Stay in.
Dev Cat is best.
Swim Inn is full of kids trying to get wasted on anything blue coloured.
