How can it be possibly be illegal to 'give' someone food? It's a law that is almost impossible to police.

"Curbing" charity.
It really is the end of the world, isnt it. Make way for the devil.
At least in Vegas people give them food, not like here where everyone pretends they don't exist.

So "Sin City" is cracking down on people who are trying to do a good thing?
They are just trying to hide or move the problem. It seems making it illegal is just creating criminals. I am sure there is a better ay of moving the problem than this.
Bl*ody ridiculous.
They'll be saying we can't feed the pidgeons in Trafalger Square next...
Oh.
But in all seriousness, it's really emphasising the fact that the Las Vegas government obviously thinks that homeless people are not better than pidgeons. What exactly do they think banning feeding them is going to do? Stop them ******* on the monuments?
Utter stupidity.
EDIT: just read link
This does seem rather stupid and like turning a blind eye to the problem. However, i had read once that a lot of homeless wont actually take food from passers by due to potential poisoning by those who look down on them as scrougers and a burdon etc

By the reaction of those I've offered food in the subway on the way home from shopping, (I never give them money) it's my lack of vodka and/or rocks of crack they turn their nose up at. The look of disgust on their faces when faced with a vitamin-packed apple or fresh bread roll with poppy seeds is illuminating.
Though what makes the Vegas situation sickening to me, is that the rampant gambling culture actually destroys many people and 'feeds' the destitution problem. Something they never mention when they big up the supercasino plans for Sheffield.
It's one thing trying to encourage the homeless to get help, but usually the help and support available is threadbare at best, and the truth is, if you want people with addictions and complex personal problems to get better, they need an intensive level of support to succeed. And what is there is stretched to the limit.
