MuteWitness 25-06-2004, 15:35 went a few weeks ago on a saturday and it was dead so wouldnt be suprised if it had closed Classic Rock 25-06-2004, 15:41 I heard on the grapevine that it had been bought.... Needs to be an evening venue only....can't think of a way to get customers in through the doors by day....nothing nearby....ghost part of town. snowboarder 25-06-2004, 16:15 They obviously could not get customers thro the door at night either if its closed......very difficult location now. IT might work with a 2am licence though..... chri5 02-07-2004, 12:13 Originally posted by snowboarder very difficult location now. IT This should change though with all the new developments down there. In a few years this could be a good location. Rubysoho 02-07-2004, 14:36 It used to be a good location when the Corp was open on Bank Street. Start off in Other Side, go to Dove, fall out of Dove straight into under the boardwalk til Corp opened its doors. Class!!! green 02-07-2004, 23:47 a friend of mine enquired into the point, to purchase, and unfortunately the licensing dept of council and the planning dept categorically state that the venue cannot have a license past 12.30am. which is effect means the place will become an abyss. ho hum....... yet another venue lost. princess_rockchick 04-07-2004, 20:14 No-one really goes in there anymore, so i am not suprised it has closed. It was a nice place to go at one point, but then other places started playing rock music and was better so people just stopped going really. Plus the corp moved, that probably did it in. Ok so people have said more or less the same thing, thought it was worth saying again, because its probably true, not that i have ventured in there for years tho. It will be missed! princess_rockchick 04-07-2004, 20:20 Originally posted by green a friend of mine enquired into the point, to purchase, and unfortunately the licensing dept of council and the planning dept categorically state that the venue cannot have a license past 12.30am. which is effect means the place will become an abyss. ho hum....... yet another venue lost. Why was it not allowed a license after 12.30am? MuteWitness 04-07-2004, 20:49 but even if it was allowed i thought it was alot of money for a late license is sheffield green 06-07-2004, 23:41 Originally posted by miss_piggy Why was it not allowed a license after 12.30am? licensing etc, have delegated which parts of the city can have upto ??? max licenses.....ie in the cultural ind quarters max is 6am, division st (in parts) upto 1am, etc. it all depends on whether housing is nearby. |
