Bouchard flying insect killer? Went to Waitrose where I bought it last time to be told its discontinued because the supplier told them they cant sell it any more. It just happens to be the best on the market and least noxious of all these substances.

After a moth infestation a while back, I am desperately keen to ensure the perishers dont get a foothold (mothhold in my home again) it cost a mega fortune getting rid of them and the damage they caused was horrendous.

Thanks wendy

Why would you want to kill gods creations?

So that they don't bite, sting, or ruin your possessions I would have thought.

Exactly. The perishing moths ate their way through my best winter coat, half my wardrobe of winter clothes, my mattress and bed, and several pairs of full length curtains.

Replacing my clothes, winter coat and bed cost an absolute fortune.

As I hope can be appreciated I am extremely keen to avoid a recurrence and if that entails a little bit of destruction then so be it unless of course there is a very kind SF benefactor who is prepared to pick up the tab. As I rather suspect this is going to be most unlikely I can not see any other option.

It would therefore be extremely helpful and most deeply appreciated if someone would be able to help me find a supplier of above product.

Very very gratefully,
Wendy

So why kill them? why dont you kindly ask them to leave?

They've come over for the summer from overseas and don't speak English.

Er - possibly because they don't understand English? Not having been to school.....

And anyway, even if they DID understand (as likely as my voting in the next Election) what makes you think they would agree to your request? Wasps don't leave a jam pot - nor moths a food source.

Duh!

Oh, and by the way, that should read "God's creations" - note the leading capital and apostrophe.

If we are to have irrational beliefs and superstitions, can we at least PLEASE have grammatical ones?

Ta!

Use of apostrophe examples:

To indicate possession, that something belongs to someone or something

the reader's book = the book of the reader

the book's cover = the cover of the book

God's creation = the creation of God

God's creations = the creations of God

These use the singular of the noun and the apostrophe comes after the word and before the 's'.

If the noun is plural and ends with an s, then the apostrophe comes at the end of the word after the final s

The readers' expectations = the expectations of the readers

my parents' address = the address of my parents

Gods' creations = the creations of Gods

The original poster my not have meant a singular God however he really should have used a leading capital. :D

In answer to the original poster's question, have you tried a rolled up Sheffield Star. Simply chase them round the room and hit them when they land. This not only solves your initial problem of infestation but is an excellent source of aerobic excercise.

I wasnt exactly enchanted or chuffed and I'd be absolutely delighted if someone could now get us back on topic by telling me where I can buy this stuff. As before with profuse appreciation.

cant help on that one, but how about buying a blue-light zapper? more environmentally sound, cheaper in the long run and very satisfying in a sadistic kind of way when something hits it.

As usual, google is your friend....

"As a precautionary measure, Ministers have suspended the sale of a range of agricultural, professional and domestic insecticide products containing the chemical dichlorvos (see Annex 1 for a full list of affected products)."

from this page

your product is in the table at the bottom of the page.

Is that the stuff suspended from a pin and pull the tape so a long sticky tape is then exposed for flies etc to get stuck in to it? If so I'm afraid to say was my first course of action when I realised the full scope of this problem. I'm afraid to say it wasnt much help.

Thank you so much. That will explain things because I thought it was rather odd that Waitrose was being told by it's supplier that they were not prepared to supply it any more.

I'd done a check on them before I bought the stuff which came up clear and am therefore more than somewhat concerned by that information.

However I do have it in writing from the manufacturer that it is perfectly safe for home use and I'm not sure which of these is the most appropriate :) :(
so on the basis of your research perhaps I ought to get back to them.

This sounds interesting - is there a name for them and do they really and truly work so that I'll never again need to pollute my environment with these awful sprays. How much are they - I'll need one each for my bedroom, sitting room, hall and kitchen. For some reason they're not as interested in my bathroom. Perhaps I should move in there. :P
