Hi,

I'm thinking of moving into lowedges and have been reading some off putting remarks about the place. On the map it looks quite well located, being near to the countryside and I wondered if some areas are worse than others. I have two children and don't want to move them into a dodgy area. The house is on Boland road, anyone know what it's like there?

Its full of smackheads. Don't go there!!! If you have to get council proprety go for Parson cross, hanover...

Thanks for replying, but that was a rather broad view of the area, smack heads are everywhere! I live amongst them right now! My enquiry was more to do with the boland road area, what it's like there - I know there are people on here who have lived and still live in lowedges and I wondered if it's possible to live a relatively trouble free existence with my two children. i.e. is it safe to use the shops, chip shop? Will my children be safe playing out (I do know it's never 100% safe - just saying reasonably safe)?

The house is a bit of a mess, though there's supposed to be new bathrooms, kitchens and central heating to be fitted. I'm in a bit of a quandry because I've never owned a council house before and I don't know this area of Sheffield at all, currently live in the darnall area.

Thanks in advance for anyone who takes the time to give some sound advice.

My boyfriend lived there about 2 years ago (gervase drive). It did seem pretty quiet, not too many gangs hanging around on the shops... but that was 2 years ago
