I thought i was being very clever this morning as i couldn't sleep i got up and went out in the garden at 6am, i am clearing it ready for gravel, so put on a cool skirt and vest top and began clearing away the weeds, all was going well...untill i began to get itchy legs , so i looked and OMG there was a cloud of midges under my skirt :o :gag: , well obviously after some dancing about i tried to carry on, but alass the midges came to, i changed into trousers but the horrible things were in my hair and i was itching all over:mad: .
In the end i came inside, trying to get away from them before i did, only to find they came in with me, and some are whizzing round the living room.
Is there anything i can wear that they don't like? as in smells etc, i want to get back to my garden, but not with those evil little beasts munching at me

You can buy Midge / Insect repellant spray from places like Boots. They re about £4.00 a can but if you re like me and react badly to midge bites (they come up as very big red spots:gag:), then its well worth it!!!!!!

Eek, that's just bought me another five years on the couch! Thanks!

We use outdoor incense sticks and put them in the planters around the seating area. Citronella is good. Anything citronella will help. Candles etc.

In relation to bites and swellings, there is obviously an allergic reaction. Pop to Asda or Tesco and purchase some anti-hystamine medication (eg: Loratidine, Piriton, Benadryl, etc etc) Remember to buy the supermarket's own brand and not the brand named ones. They're exactly the same but a hell of a lot cheaper.

That will stop you both swelling up and itching.

Good luck!

Midges up t'skirt. Shudders!
