View Full Version : John Harley christhebest 23-06-2004, 11:13 What do you think about Sheffield Uniteds Sineing Of of John Harley Internetowl 23-06-2004, 12:25 He's got 4 hoofs and a snout - should fit in well :) CaptainSleep 23-06-2004, 13:50 Well said internet owl. Typical of warnock he signs a left back and then says he'll play him in midfield redinsheff 23-06-2004, 14:08 A sound player - must have taken a huge pay cut to come to the Lane - another three signings to be announced this friday too....alledgedly! duffman 23-06-2004, 16:14 Already having a left back (Alan Wright) I think it is a good place to put Harley, he showed the last time he was with us how good he was going forward and will be good going back aswell. It will definately boost the midfield. Jonesy 23-06-2004, 18:31 Coming from near Derby, and having been to school there and surrounded by Derby fans on a daily basis, would someone explain to me what the heck Warnock was doing when he got rid of Peschisolido and (temporarily at least) swapped him for Izale McLeod? I have seen Izale several times (unfortunately) and on every occasion he was so bad that his own fans laughed at him en masse during games. I did see one of his games for United on TV and he looked to have improved a bit. But still, if you're chasing promotion why would you let a proven goalscorer like Paul leave? Was there a fall-out or something? It just struck me as being mildly suicidal. Even if he was out of form he has a proven track record which izale certainly does not! duffman 23-06-2004, 19:26 We don't have McLeod any more, Warnock sent him back to Derby, but Derby still have Pesch and now with the signings he has made and the possible arrival of Andy Liddel (Why?) I don't think we will see him again. Shame really I was going to get Peschisolido on the back of my shirt, but like every other player I have had put on, they were sold!! Jonesy 23-06-2004, 19:42 Yeah I know he was sent back, I don't blame him! It was quite surreal to be in Pride Park and hear 20,000 people burst out laughing as 'replacing so-and-so.......Izale Mcleod!!' rang out on the PA. I have always rated Peschisolido, I just didn't understand it at all when you're chasing promotion. Pesch has experience and a good record, Izale has/had neither. A very bizarre swap. I'm a Burton fan and our 'keeper is Matt Duke who used to be the number two at United, he's a quality keeper at our level. |
