:) Does anyone remember Bob Beale going to the wapentake around 1982 - he also had a friend called Ray(tall guy nice face).

Bob Beale was one of the Wapentake rodents I think, nothing nasty just a few people with red tops with some printing.
Ray younger brother of Charlie and a really nice guy. Isn't he pictured on Rock Reunited?

I had alook on Rock Reunited but couldn't see a pic of Ray, maybe I didn't look hard enough! There was also a DJ called Les aswell as Ken at the Wap if I remember rightly.

You're right on both counts, there isn't a pic of Ray on the site but I'm sure I've got one somewhere so I'll dig it out and send it on to be included.
Ken the DJ [heavy Jethro Tull fan] is featured though if that's any consolation and Les was also a DJ there

The Wapentake is featured or the music from the Wap on Sheffield live tonight and every thursday, may bring back memories.

great pics both myself and my better half were often to be found there and in the underground
sadly sass is no longer with us but many of the old crew are found in the nelson on saturday nights

Wow - Mac's in a lot of those. I see one of Lez and one of Jim before he cut his hair. Some of the other faces are familiar, but not people I knocked about with.
