Or is Casa just having a make over? I've just driven past and the colour of the building is back to that green it used to be as Hanrahans and there was a sign that was half hanging down so all i could see was 'hans opening soon'!

Anyone know anything?

Just to answer my own question, yes it is!! Just driven past again and it definately says Hanrahans opening 2nd July. Looks like it will be a totally no smoking venue too.

That'll have every poser in South Yorkshire cracking a big ****-eating grin at the prospect!

LOL, although i thought it was more relaxed as Hanrahans than when it turned into Casa. I stopped going when it was Casa cos it seemed that everyone in there had their heads up their own rear ends!!!! :D ;) And they didn't do the chicken wings that Hanrahans did, which was one of the main reasons i went!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've never been in myself, expect they'd look down on such a scruffy leftist type as myself...and I don't have a jag, either.

All four of them on a Saturday night ;)

I have this feeling that we've all moved on though. It will be the Woodstock next!

Casa was always full of posers, I had a friend who worked there and she hated it.

Its a bar/restaurant near Hallamshire hospital. Used to be Hanrahans years ago and then they changed it to Casa and changed the menu etc :( and now it looks like its going back to Hanrahans.

Drove past Casa yesterday - sign outside says it is re-opening as Hanrahans this Saturday (3rd July). Can anyone confirm the finest (and most comfy) drinking spot in Sheffield is to make a welcome return?

A friend went for lunch to Hanrahans yesterday, and in her words " I wouldnt have fed it too my cat, absolutely appalling"

The lunch was refunded, and she has reccommmended that we dont bother going.

Well nothings changed on the food front then. The food was never much cop - it's just somewhere civilised.

One great thing - it's all NON SMOKING!!

I think the term for most of the blokes who go in there is "champagne Charlie's on lemonade money"

A few years ago I worked not far from Hanrahans in a Bank at Broomhill. I remember happy hour was good for the cheap cocktails, but never went near the place later in the evening.

But I agree it was always full of 'ten bob millionaires' as we call them, a bit like champs in that respect.

Drank at Hanrahans a couple of times when I first started working in Sheffield - the boss liked it.

Aside from serving chilled Sam Adams beer on tap, there wasn't much to recommend it.

Well aside from some fantastic looking girls...but as I didn't drive a porsche at the time there was no sense going back......

Went for a meal this week, thought it was very good.

I ve been going in Hanrahans / Casa for about 15 years now, never thought it any differant.

Always liked it though because after a very tough time in the Hallamshire I escaped for a well earned pint .
