View Full Version : Help me choose a new forum username

Old_Bloke

I've decided to take a bit of advice from a couple of young ladies off here and change my username. They say I'm not old enough to be calling myself 'Old_Bloke' and it's too off-putting to the ladies. Apparently.

Trouble is, I can't think of something which has the elements of mystery, intrigue and danger that i want :) Any suggestions?! I might even offer a prize for the person who suggests the best one...

Having seen your enthusiasm for DogEgg earlier in the week, I'd have thought you would have suggested that, or are you saving it for yourself!!!!

How about "Young_Bloke":hihi:

You can't use your first name- I've already checked and it's in use (as are several variations, although I'm sure you could find one that wasn't in use!), so how about something about your job?

(Actually, that hasn't been so successful for taxman, so maybe that's a bad plan too!)

And references to Grimsby and Mexborough aren't likely to add to your appeal are they? Hmmm- how about 'still got all my teeth'?.

He's only 29- doesn't really qualify for 'old' does he?

EDIT- beg your pudding- he's 30 now.

Being associated with places like Mexborough and Grimsby I would suggest something along the lines of smack head, but that is too harsh so how about pikey? ;) lol

Are we to now assume that we are allowed to change our usernames on a whim?
This current frivolity seems to be encouraged by a Moderator.

In the past, We have always been led to believe (nay .... sternly informed!) that it would only be permitted for very serious reasons.

I think we should be told.

Nope - when you type a PM, and put the name in, the software now produces a list of people you may be typing, so if you type 'Joe' for instance, it gives you about half a dozen to choose from that already exist.

Or, you could just... click here (http://www.sheffieldforum.co.uk/memberlist.php?) ;)

What about "Chester"......we had an un-neutered cat called that once, and he was great with the ladies! :)

On second thoughts, no. There was a "Chester" in "Gunsmoke" years ago on TV, the sidekick of the town Sheriff Matt Dylan.

Mind you he had a bad limp. :hihi:

Like Jabberwocky will have if Dibsy catches up with him. :hihi:

He wasn't ginger by any chance was he??

We found an un neutered cat an he was a right player, till we took him to the vets and had his dangly bits removed:o

Anyway he was called Chester (sorry this post is TOTALLY of topic)

I was going to suggest 'Coffindodger' but I guess given that you want to get away from the 'old' maybe not!

If it's mystery, intrigue and danger you're after, maybe Batfink or Secret Squirrel might be better.
