I really like being able to reserve books online from my own pc and not having to pay a reservation charge anymore. In addition they are getting lots of good new books on the shelves.

Every so often I like to pop into Waterstones and check out their new books, note their details and then order them from the library. Naturally I only order books I have no intention of buying.

It's a good scheme but they waste a lot of money sending letters out to tell people when their books are available. If you reserve a book on-line you can check when it's available on-line.

Pointed this out to them a few times but nothing changes

You'd have thought that they'd e-mail you when they turn up

I've pointed out to them too that they could notify people by email if they have an email address registered, but they took no notice. I have always already collected my reserved book by the time the letter comes.

This is a very good service, but on two occasions within the last few months books that I have ordered have disappeared whilst in transit so that's something to keep an eye on. Also I find that I look up to see if a book is on the shelves and quite often, even though it says it is, when I get there it's nowhere to be seen.

Its a great service - particularly when I order talking books for my daughter..I was surprised these were included in the the no fee deal. She likes the Harry Potter ones and they are £65, so I won't be buying them !

If you want to join the library, what do you have to turn up with in order to join? Utility Bill? Credit card?

I really want to join, and keep meaning to go and sort it out :)

I think it's proof of ID (perhaps with a photo but not sure), plus a recent utility bill etc to prove address.

Give them a call on 2734729
