I would think it has to be a French or German player, but I can't think of anyone who qualifies for winning all of those.

Is this a trick because I can't think of anyone? There are a few players who are one honour short, these are:

Gilberto Silva - No Champs League
Barthez - No FA Cup
Henry - No Champs League
Pires - No Champs League
Vieira - No Champs League
Deschamps - No Premiership
Desailly - No Premiership
Diomede - No Premiership

Thunzi
22-07-2006, 20:07
The list has been edited since the beginning, originally had league cup on as well, makes it a bit more possibly that being removed doesn't it? :suspect:

However, seriously, from your list

Gilberto Silva - No Champs League
And no European Championship being Brazillian and all :)

Barthez - No FA Cup
Henry - No Champs League
Pires - No Champs League
Vieira - No Champs League
Deschamps - No Premiership
Desailly - No Premiership
Diomede - No Premiership
Agree with all of those, the only other person I can think of is Laurent Blanc, but he doesn't have FA cup or Champions League (I think). Or Nicolas Anelka, but he wasn't in France 98 Squad.

Good one Spyro. Put us out of our misery then...

By the way, Gaze, when did Diomede win the FA Cup. He never even kicked a ball in anger when he was at Liverpool.

Got to be France, German or Italy as only these Euro countries have won World Cup. can't think of any Italians in Prem so that narrows it down. Thought it was Petit but he hasn't got a champions league medal.

Gemany- Euro Champs 72,80 & 96
France- Euro Champs 84 & 2000
Italy- Euro Champs 68.

More Info :- Germany won world cup in 74. (closest Euros, 72 & 80)
France won World Cup in 98, ( closest Euros, 84 )
Italy won Euro in 68, no World Cup win close to that year.
Hopefully narrowed it down to a German World Cup winner of 1974 or a French World Cup winner of 1998.

when did Diomede win the FA Cup. He never even kicked a ball in anger when he was at Liverpool.
I was aware he didn't play a lot of games due to injury, and he defiantly didn't qualify as he wasn't a premiership winner so I didn't investigate too much on his FA cup status.

Germany also won the World Cup in 1990 and the European cup in 1996. France won the European Cup in 2000. Its got to be a player who's played after 1992 as thats when the Premier League started.

Not got either the World Cup or the European Championship with France.

Which other leagues translate as the Premier League? Desailly played and won in the French league, Ligue 1. Only other country he played was Italy.

Champions League

James7x7
02-08-2006, 21:41
The answer is Marcel Desailly

French Premier League with Olympique de Marseille 1992/93 (although club later stripped of title after match fixing scandal)

Champions League with AC Milan 1994

FA cup with Chelsea 2000

World Cup 1998 and European Championships 2000

Am I right?

James7x7
02-08-2006, 22:00
Or it might be Didier Deschamps. He won the french premier league with Marseilles in 1990/91 and 1991/92.
