Sorry if there has been another thread about this, I couldnt find one.

I have never been to a circus before and dont know what to expect.

I am looking after my little brother this weekend and I was thinking of taking him for something different to do.

The only problem is I dont know how boring circus's are. And also I hope they dont cage animals up like in the old days and miss treat them. Im not an animal rights person but my impression of a circus is animals being dragged around everywhere and trapped in cages all the time unless they are performing.

Anyway, has anyone been before or know about this? prices etc? :) :) :)

I think zippo's circus is for you. It's low on animals and high on acrobatics, as I understand. And a very high standard. It looks like a friendly sort of circus.

Are there any tigers at the circus?

Several years ago a neighbour of ours won some tickets to Cottle's circus which was being held in Clifton Park, Rotherham.

She very kindly gave them to us as she thought we might like to take our kids.

Having seen circuses on TV, and not being particularly impressed, I wasn't too chuffed at the prospect of having to sit through one for real.

Anyhow, not wanting to let the kids down, and following pressure from 'she who must be obeyed' we all went.

All the way there I was thinking, 'This'll be crap. This'll be purgatory. God I wish I was too ill to go!!'

Guess what. It was absolutely brilliant!! The kids loved it, I loved it, and the wife never let me forget it. "See you miserable git. Not too bad, was it."

The only animals were horses, and a dog that was part of the clown act.

Highly recommended Danielle69. And that's coming from the bloke who taught Victor Meldrew.:D
