Hi.

Thought I would put this on here though it does not really qualify for history but I suppose it does in a sort of way.
I piloted Single something simple earlier on Sheffield Live and plan to do a regular feature on it every week.
Now I have hit a copyrights issue and though the format is OK the name isn't and I will have to rename it.
I plan to replace Sing Something simple with another name for next Friday and would like any suggestions from you.

By the way, thanks for your emails and PMs regarding the pilot, it seems it was quite a success.

I would like your ideas on this but though I need to change the name only it needs to remain knowledgable to regular listeners who will still recognise it as it was, if you know what I mean.

Paul.

"Old ones, loved ones" which used to be part of the intro IIRC, but doubt they could copyright that ?

Or how about 'Thing Thumsing Thimple' ? :D

We need something in the same context, so what about:
Nostalgic Melodies:
Sentimental Melodies:
The Reminiscent Years:
Nostalgic Reflections:
Reflective Memories:
Nostalgic Laments:
A time to Lament:
Nostalgic Daydreams:
A time to Reminisce:
Your Mother should know:
A Mothers Lament:
A Time to Remember, Lest we Forget:
------------
One could go on for ever with the mix n match.

You can listen to it anywhere in the world.
It goes out on Fridays at 17.00 British time,,, not sure what time it will be in OZ, probably very early morning.

www.sheffieldlive.org is the site, click on listen live and you get the memories flooding back.
You can't help but sing a long.

Thanks that sounds good, I want people to recognise the programme as it was without getting into bother with the BBC.
Sounds good, also SSS second time around does to.
Thanks for the suggestions.
The chosen one will be on the schedual next week.

Single something simple
Yep but I have since found out that it may break the rules since I did the first post which I need to change.

I will pass the suggestions to the station and let them siff there way through them.
Mickey who does the web site is a member of this forum but I don't know his forum name, If your there Mickey, what do you reckon.

For the record I would have thought this would be a good thing for the BBC radio 2 as its unlikely to be brought back with them and would be a credit to them for a station showing interest in this show.
Cliff Adams died 5 years ago and I also think that it would benefit his sales to.

I haven't ,,not as I know of anyway.
I have had to move away from the words Sing Somethhingg Simple altogether so the name I have chosen is Songs my Mother taught me....I know it sounds completely different but the write up explains the format which anyone who knows the show will twig what it is.
