I live in the s8 area and mine is always going off, telewest really **** me off, it was off for 11 days a couple of weeks ago and we had to get someone out to have a look at it and it still keeps going off:rant:

We're even further away (still S6), and have not had any problems.

Just spoken to TW tech support as still dropping the connection.
did a test and the system dropped 75% of the packets sent. TS reckon its an area problem.

If I go missing you know why ;)

Hi

Just wondered if anyone else was expreiencing problems with their telewest broadband connection in S6? Havent been able to use it properly for the last few days, getting an intermittant service. Rung them up and they said they are aware of faults with the main line in S6 but the onlt advice they could give me was to use it at 3am when it was quiet ?!

Telewest Broadband often fails especially weekends and nights. Oversold and cannot cope. 17th. and 18th. July, lost Telewest Cable television and Broadband. Never get a refund from them. Considering changing at first opportunity. That's Sheffield 12 area.

never had any problems with telewest broadband....been A+
and when tele went down they came straight away to fix (S10)

Im glad i saw this thread.ours has ben terrible for a few days,its been mostly evenings when the signal drops.we have been puzzled because in the bottom corner its the signal strength and connection are ok but yet we cant connect to anything.we thought it was the wireless box was faulty or one of the kids had messed with the settings so thanks for this thread.:thumbsup:

Only ever had problems with the email. Had real problems when we first got it, but it turned out we had a faulty modem. Although I do think the television went down for a little bit last night, soon after the second storm.

ours kept on going down so we rang up and someone came to have a look at it. it turned out to be that they had attached a stepper thing at the back because we used to get 'too much signal' so he took that off and now it is fine!

Yep we have had this problem over the last few days. After a chat with the guys at technical support this is what they came up with;
Turn off all power and wait for 1 minute
disconnect power cable on moden and router if you have on and wait for one minute
turn power on and wait for one minute
reconnect moden power cable and wait for one minute
reconnect router power cable and wait for one minute
restart computer

Sounds tedious but it worked!

Our TW connection has dropped constantly all day, seems to be more stable now thankfully!
