Does anyone know of a retailer in Sheffield that does fireproof data safes? Has to be at least 1 hour rated.

Can you buy them retail?

Have you tried Staples or any of the other office suppliers in the yellow pages?

Or, don't we have a second hand office furniture supplier in the city?

I doubt staples would have them. Here (http://www.videkonline.co.uk/home.asp?page=SubSections&ChapterID=4&SectionID=36#4161E) are where we got ours from. Free delivery too.

There's a good locksmiths in Shalesmoor that had some safes when I went in recently. I don't know if they were fire rated though.

If you can wait for next day delivery then screwfix.com have some.

They never had any in the Sheffield branch when we were after some two months ago.

Well that's also what I said - it isn't the sort of thing you expect to put in the boot of your car usually

I know, I was just pointing out that they didn't have any when I went ;), just in case he was thinking of nipping down to pick one up, and promptly drop it through the floor of his car.

Thanks guys,

Given Harrold H and Sons (the locksmith on shalesmore who seem to have been there since the dawn of time!) a call. Luckily i'll be taking thier last one in stock.

Pheonix Safe - Data Fire Proof (ie the tapes/discs won't melt inside) for 2hrs @ 1065 •c.

£365.00. Not the cheapest - but when weighed up against the loss of back-up, worth it.

(ps don't fancy buying a safe from Staples - pens maybe, safes - no thanks.)

I wouldn't buy one from staples either - but you asked for retail
