View Full Version : The Cage gym - stop the spam!

This is posted here as it's more about this company's marketing efforts rather than the gym itself. Over the last few months, both my office and home post boxes have been constantly flooded with small, medium and large flyers advertising the benefits of joining. To top it all off, I'm now starting to get some 'newsletter' which is basically a badly disguised advert - for example one of the 'stories' is all about how you can try out their 'padlock system' for the locker rooms...!

It smacks of desperation to me and I was wondering if anyone else living or working in the city centre (or perhaps elsewhere?) has encountered 'cage spam' as it's now known.

I understand the need to spread the word - but to me this is sending out all the wrong messages. Rather than waste so much money on unsolicited mail-shots (and they are all very glossy etc.) why not save the money and use it to offer off-peak membership like most other gyms...

Yeah i've had all the flyers and the newsletter.Like you said it does seem pretty desperate, especially for somewhere whats trying to be up-market and exclusive. It doesnt actually sound like a bad gym apart from:
1)Its to expensive.
2) It has to many gimmicky classes (striptease areobics?? wtf??)

I remember on there original website to join it said you had to go for an audition, again wtf???
