How old is that map because oposite St James Church is a small cul de sac called Church View

I have an Ariel photo of Woodhouse taken over that part of St james/ which shows the fire satation on Beverhill.

Don't know the age of the map, it was one i borrowed and took off the relevent part i wanted, would think it's around 1900'ish.

Can you upload it Wattsy?

Here's a link to a map of Woodhouse Mill, probably around the same time, and showing part of Woodhouse on it's left hand edge:http://www.treetonweb.co.uk/parish/images/wmill.jpg

It looks like Station Road used to be called Furnace Lane all the way up to Market Street, and one end of Beaver Hill Road used to be Carr Lane

Edit: it's 1855, this map

If you search for Woodhouse Mill on the old maps site you'll get a choice of Derbyshire or Yorkshire.

http://www.old-maps.co.uk/

The Yorkshire version is 1855 and the Derbyshire map is 1894, - interesting to see the development in 40 years.
