We are situated near incinerator and looking south east there is a big plume of smoke.

Reckon its Darnall way?

well im in handsworth and i'd say it's somewhere around here.

just took some pics of the smoke from one of the bedroom windows. what ever it is, it's been on fire for a good 15 minutes now, hope nobody is hurt

I can see the smoke from wadsley bridge looking towards the direction of the Meadowhall/M1

I've heard that it's an umberella factory at Handsworth. (cue a lot of jokes about being covered, business gone up in smoke, a SPOKES person said etc.)

Had a look out the front of my building can't see anything towards Meadowhall / Wincobank.

Just come through Handsworth and there's an awful lot of smoke in the direction of the parkway.

The fire at handsworth is on the small industrial est next to asda and the driving test centre.

Somewhere on Richmond Park Road I just heard. Dont know what it is though.

Fingers crossed the parkway'll be clear then ! Coudln't beleive they had the camera van out yesterday in the heat - actually felt sorry for the guy operating it stuck in side!

they have evacuated some of the residents directly behind because the unit on fire is at the end of their gardens.

Just driven through Dronfield - (2 mins ago) thick black smoke (acrid smell in the air) is clearly visible from there, heading towards town on the breeze.

Its smells of chemicals and its hurting her throat, so it sounds a bit nasty...

My other half just phoned his a electrical enginer for ace janitorial supplies at attercliff.
He is near handsworth and can see the smoke.
He is off to investigate what it is,he thought it was fletchers again i say from ove there dont be daft.lol

doesnt look too bad from newhall road, attercliffe. deffo over darnall i reckon. not far from don valley stadium at a guess.

I can categorically state that it is the umbrella factory on the Portland Business Park next to the driving test centre at Handsworth as I had a pupil out on test when it went up, and saw it with my own eyes.

Must have taken fire brigade about 20 minutes to respond to the 999 call though.

The other day it was the north show, now it would appear to be the south sides turn.

Saxon is correct that it is on the Portland Business Park. I picked the kids up from Athelstan School at 3 pm and the fire was raging then. There is still alot of smoke now.

Seems to have calmed down in the past 10 minutes - smoke is not as black and less of it.

Was there a fire in Handsworth Yesterday about 2.45. Saw the Fire engine screeming down the parkway and lots of thick black smoke. As i was getting nearer the turn off for Mosbrough Parkway it looked like it was at the Adsa site. Any clues or were they just buring the bread in sympathy with Fletchers.

There was a load of smoke coming from behind Asda last night. When me and the missus went over there - at about 7pm - it was still smoking.

it was a plastics factory as far a we can gather
