I think i would like to give it a go. but am scared that after 30 seconds I will just collapse. or be tired out. I dont need to lose weight. just get fit, tone up. will it work for that.

i tried the one at hillsborough the other month and nearly died! i couldnt take sitting on the bike seat a second longer and got off after about 10 - 15 mins, right wuss.
Spinning's ok if you're reasonably fit. You can only do your best. Plus if it does get too hard for you, just turn down the resistance. It's best to try to keep going though for the full class, even if you don't do what the others do. :)
Rook is right, in that you can work at your own pace to a certain extent. Spinning is pretty intense til you get into it though, so if you're new to exercise you might want to consider a different class first and work up to spinning.
In my experience its best to spend a little time warming up before hand.
Make sure you feel comfortable on the bike adjust the seat and bars accordingly.
wear the right clothing something light that will wick sweat away
if you are not used to it start slowly you do not want to burn out you can always push it towards the end
drink water before during and after
bring a towel you gonna need it.
once you get used to it is a great form of excercise
Go for it :)
I dont know if I have been totally put off it now or what.
not getting much confidence by it all yet.

I've done it at Fitness first on Archer rd. The first time I did it I lasted 20 mins & sat the rest out. By just the second time I lasted the whole class.
I find it really enjoyable.
If you get tired early on, can you just peddle through as normal.
without looking stupid.
or if anyone wants to join me. at Fitness first, Hillsborough.
please
?
I have only done spinning at Ponds Forge and although I would not say i enjoy it, the classes are very good and it is an extremely good form of exercise that makes you work up a sweat and makes you feel like you have achieved something after.
I would not class myself as 'fit' these days and therefore i do struggle in the classes, however with determination you can get through a full class of 45 mins, even if you do like i (and many other people) do and reduce the resistance, sit up and just pedal, have a drink etc etc. You do not look out of place doing this.
You should definately give it a go, like i said, you do feel good after and if you don't think you can cope with it then you don't need to go back!
I find that taking a friend for moral support always works!
