I'm hoping to get down to London in a few weekends time and i need a hotel to stop in. I'd like to be around the Belgravia/Westminster/Chelsea area but somewhere nearish would do. I've looked on Expedia.co.uk and all the digs in that area seem pretty expensive. :(

I know its the middle of tourist season down there but i'd really appreciate if someone could help me out, i promise to bring back some jellied eels for ya! lol :)

Cheers guys and girls! :)

Travelodge come in at around £66 for a double room. If you are a civil servant or have been in the forces, the Union Jack Club in Waterloo!

I thought there were B&Bs in Victoria which charged in the region of £40/night. Cant guarantee the quality and cant remember the name(s) but thought they were near the VIctoria Coach Station.

With my job I work one week every three weeks in Victoria and stay in the company flat. Not a place I'd want to be in a seedy hotel around a particularly dangerous area. The worse one is the Station Hotel on Vauxhall Bridge Road near the Lord Burleigh (now closed). Keep away! Stray a bit further over into Belgravia or Pimlico, much nicer areas, but then again much more expensive. Changing the subject, if you like Indian food, try the Spicy World on Wilton Road, Victoria/Pimlico! The Willow Walk (Weatherspoons) is not bad, but Elusive Camel on Wilton Road, if you like a bit of life and cool music. Try the Jugged Hare on Vauxhall Bridge Road, good food, good price and safe!! Ben the manager is really cool! I love Victoria, but be careful!

Stellios now does something basic, can't remember the name but there's a website I saw last year, perhaps Easy Hotels. Basic room for about 20 quid?

Look at www.tripadvisor.com for reviews of hotels before you stay there - I've alway found it very useful

So is Victoria considered a dodgy area then?? I thought with it being pretty much surrounded by nice areas it would be ok!!!

If thats the case I'll defiantly be looking more towards Belgravia and pimlico, I'm going to well over a grands worth of gear equipment on me most of the time I'm there and i don't fancy getting robbed!!
