I hope someone knows something on this because id be very interested. willman 19-07-2006, 08:12 check the sheffield bamindton website, it lists all "clubs". some of these have criteria/ability levels - some don,t. others also have different nights for different abilities. i'm sure spinac used to run one at ponds forge. mindyspat 24-07-2006, 22:51 Anyone know of badminton clubs at Ponds Forge? Andy there is one at concoed on wed with the spur into action group. the_mandarin 16-09-2006, 19:42 Anyone know of badminton clubs at Ponds Forge? Andy If it is Ponds Forge that you were specifically asking about, then the answer is NO. I had asked there last week if they had any Badminton clubs - to which they replied that they did not! spinac 18-09-2006, 14:02 Thanks for the mention Mindy! I did at one time use Pond's Forge, but your courts get cancelled at short notice when other big events take over the sports hall so it's not that great for a club that wants to play every week. We also tried Hillsborough Leisure Centre but outgrew that as we could only have 2 courts for the first session. Goodwin Sports Centre at Sheffield university is great but students get priority in term time, so we settled on Concord Leisure Centre at Shiregreen. We're allowed to block book and we've never been let down by the Centre. We regularly had 18-20 players before the summer, but numbers have dipped a little so we have spare places again if you'd like to join us. It's a social game but we don't have any real beginners at the moment. We never seem to attract enough novices at any one time for them develop together, so the odd newcomer to the game feels a little out of depth. I'd love to hear from you if you'd like to join us (each Wed from 8pm) Cheers, Ken |
