Hi does anyone know anywhere good for funky house in Sheffield? I heard bed was reopening but it hasn't done so yet. The only place I have been able to find is the pin up club on fridays and that's not exactly great. Does anyone know if or when bed is going to be reopening? Where does everyone from bed go at the moment?

Hiya

Bed is not reopening. But Hed Kandi is on at Gatecrasher One the first Saturday of every month. Theres a new night on at Gatecrasher called Slummin which is on every Saturday (its over 21's). I havent been but its supposed to be really good.

Also one a month theres a night called Hustle at Zero (over 21's again), thats a house night.

Hope this helps

Em x

I posted the same question not that long ago. If you do a search you'll find the thread (i think its called desperately seeking house music) People had some really good suggestions for me then which might be of some use to you. Good luck!

I tried Slummin last week.
I went cause Rivera was on ....but wasnt.
Harry Choo Choo instead.
He was ok...but you know when youre told (or sold ) something and its not quite what it says on the box.
I think Im one of many that wont fall for that trick at GC1 again.
Better spending your money at Pin Up on Fridays or Hustle next Saturday I think(usually last weekend of month).
I wish Hustle would go weekly. I've not been disappointed yet.
Come on Hustle guys sort it out.

GC1 are trying to make Slummin the place to be, they have spent thousands on advertisment and are trying to push a posh london style image. It's still GC1 and I don't think making it over 21's was a good move at all. Getting into GC1 was hard enough before let alone now.

Just waiting for a new place to open that does a Funky House night weekly:D If it doesn't happen then I'm gonna start one hehe.

HUSTLE is back!
So onto the next HUSTLE.

Saturday June 26th

Special Guest DJ #1
PAUL FARRIS
Certainly doesn’t need an introduction……..so I wont. Suffice to say it’s the first time we have had Paul at HUSTLE and from what other promoters around the UK have told us its gonna be a fantastic night.

Special Guest DJ #2
DEAN WEBSTER Pin Up
Resident at Takapuna, Home (Leeds) and of course Pin Up right here in Sheffield,
we welcome Dean to the HUSTLE decks for the very first time. We hear the whole Pin Up crowd are on their way down for this one too.

Special Guest DJ #2
MICHAEL AND MARK Foundation (Wakefield)
As many of you will know there was loads of Glasshouse regulars down from Leeds at the last HUSTLE and they all mentioned these 2.
So we thought we would give them a try.

10:30 - 4:00
Advance tickets are £5 from Coolwax and Brother to Brother.
£7 on the door til midnight, £10 after.

Yeah Quality
I went too and was not impressed with the main room being RnB, but Corey (presumably the resident??) was wicked. I also looked forward to Sandy Rivera, but found Harry (choo choo) Romera equally entertaining. Danced and sweated all night long...... was also expecting strct dress code... but some right states in there (were you one of them????? - haha).
Drinks pricey though.
When we gonna get good club with decent price drinks?
Cheers mate.
