View Full Version : Why do people get nervous about their wedding day?
Seriously...
Why do people get nervous on their wedding day. Is it because they just worry that they are making the wrong decision (why are they doing it anyway then!...) or do they just worry because they want the day to go smoothly and be perfect?
I want to know!
I'm not worried at all - getting married in cuba in november just immediate family - no party when we get back - simple!

Do you think your be nervous on the day though? Or just in holiday mode!!!
I should imagine part of it is because they're going to be in the spotlight for the best part of the day. Plus, they've spent so much money on the wedding, and friends and family are jetting in from all over the place, so they would be a bit nervous about the day going to plan. All the more reason to keep it low-key.

course I wont be nervous - I'll be with people who know me better than anyone else - and I'm marrying the man I want to be with till I die - I'll be excited and happy, but not nervous!
Probably 'cause they've just spent £16,000 (the UK average) on a day's entertainment, having spent anything from several months to several years planning it, dealing with family demands for this and that, fussing over the exact shade of napkins, designing matchbooks, etc etc. And then have to have their photos taken by all and sundry while looking 'perfect'. Christ, your bum would be chewing your pants to bits!

So is it because of all the little material things like you just mentioned for instance...'the shade of napkins!!!' and not the fact you are or should be with this other person for the rest of your life?

So why not get married in a reg office with a couple of witnesses and forget the rest?
or in cuba in the sunshine.....

I think so. Certainly for the woman anyway, as the bloke will probably just have spent the preceeding year's planning saying "choose what you like, love, I don't mind". ;) Meanwhile he'll be nervous about looking a prat in a tailcoat and the possibility of getting so drunk later that the wedding night is a flop in many ways. :o
