Does anyone know if it's possible to save a back up of the links in your favourites folder of IE?
If so how?

Something along the lines of how you back up Outlook (emails n that) so I can transfer the favourites to my Laptop.

I'm currently in the process of migrating my Desktop to my Laptop so I can pack up the PC for when we move house. I'll basically be running everything from the Laptop and need my favourites (and I have a lot all stored in different folders and sub folders). Yes the majority of them serve a great deal of purpose for me and a regularly have a clean out of no longer used fav's.

However I don't want the thought of having to sit and manually input all of them again onto the laptop. :(

Any suggestions?

You get a free trial, dont know what the limitations are though!

If you have no look with it, download.com is bound to have something for you!

Can't you just use the 'Import/ Export' option on the file menu.
Lets you export favorites cookies etc. for just such a purpose.

Why don't you just write your favourites folder to disc( cd, zip disk, etc) then copy it into your new favourite folder on the laptop.

Don't see why you need a program to do it, its not rocket science. Just a simple matter of finding the folder and copy n pasting.

The favourites file can be found normally be found on XP here

C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Favorites

So in my case it would be here C:\Documents and Settings\Skatiechik\Favorites

You can just copy this folder or write it onto disc. I did this yesterday when I re-installed an operating system. Luckily I have had the added advantage of two hard disks so I just copied and pasted it across.
