Inspired by my dying post. I was wondering, how would you people like to be remembered by others once you have passed away?

I'll add my thoughts later.

I'd like to be remembered as being helpful, kind, caring and honest (I'm workin on em). I'd like to have made a fair bit of money for charity and to have lead a good life.

The key to immortality is to live a life worth remembering - Bruce Lee

What I'd like on my headstone is:

(In small writing so people have to get really close)You're standing on my b***s[/siz]

Or

Jesus Christ is that the time already? Billy Connolly

I prefer Salvador Dali on Immortality:

the secret of immortality is in the hibernation of molluscs.

As an epitaph:

Wish you were here
or
I told you I was ill

I really won't care how I am remembered, however.

I would like to be remembered with large numbers of giant statues and funerary monuments. Like Hitler if he'd won.

To quote, or mis-quote, from the odd couple:

Felix Ungar: When I die I want to be transported to a leafy burial plot in a hearse drawn by 8 white horses. What do you want?

Oscar Madison: To be there.

I'll add mine to this now.

I would like to be remembered by others as the man that I thought myself to be and hope others perceived me in the same way.

I'd like to be remembered simply as the greatest living human... ever. I'm almost there.

My modesty is part of what makes me so amazingly and fantastically great! It's my mental acuity that lets me see this. :)

as a nice old git... funnily enough my will instructs that all nine gigabytes of my life's work be given to anyone attending my funeral!

there is a dvd in a bomb-proof vault at my solicitors containing 3,000 photographs, 128 hours of sound recordings, about half a million words of diaries written over nearly 30 years, hundreds of poems, letters and articles....

it's that nano-technology wot's done it!

How I will be remembered by family and friends I will leave to them. I have no intention of dictating to them - for once! :hihi:

I'd like to be remembered as the man who rescued Satan from the position of media scapegoat, to cool funky bringer of salvation.

I would like to be remembered for my honesty; for my willingness to stand up for what I believe is right; for my strength of faith; and for being me.

why do people want to be remembered? I simply don't understand aside from an ego perspective.

I'm with you Modesty. I'd just like to think that my kids looked back on some happy memories. I'm not a perfect mother by any means but whatever I've done its been with the best intention at the time and I feel pretty sure I did ok.

For doing the right thing.
For making a difference
For changing the way that people think about things
For improving other peoples lives.
For speaking up for myself
For being honest
For being a good parent.
For living my life to the full and achieving my full potential

How pathetic? you will be remembered for what you were and no more, no-matter how much you wish to think of yourself.
