Jet pretty much only gets sold in and around Whitby, as it's unique to the area. You could try ordering over the net or by phone? I've got a business card for Venus Tradings somewhere....

Thought you meant fuel at first! Flea markets are good for the old jewelry stuff. Not relevant to your Sheffield query but Prague is THE place to buy it and if you are on a tight budget you can get a return ticket to there quite cheaply.

went to prague last month, but didn't think about it at the time, have been round every possible shop in town and had no luck, reckon whitby might be the best bet

Can be found on the beach at Whitby so Im told (if you know how to differentiate between Jet and bits of coal) Bought my daughter a necklace in Whitby made of lots of little Jet Bats.

Actually we can get Jet in...it is just flippin expensive so we don't keep it as a stock item.
I ordered in a few pieces for a customer who wanted it for their staff.

Your other options are really whitby and Scarborough who do keep that stone in quite regularly.

One of the stalls in the craft markets that appear occasionally in Fargate or by the Peace Gardens on Saturdays sell Jet objects.
