Sorry but I've only just heard.Probably the best trombone player this country produced and better than his old 'guvnor' Ted Heath!Recall his own compositions really well - 'Lush Slide' and 'On With the Don'

A wonderful musician and a true gentleman, a very good friend of ours is Tina Pratt former wife of the wonderful trumpet player,Bobby Pratt, and she was in England on a visit and was able to attend the memorial service to Don Lusher and met some of the surviving members of the band who played when Bobby was in the Ted Heath band. In September another of the Ted Heath long time sidemen passed away Henry Mckenzie an outstanding musician whose clarinet work is an example to all budding students of that instrument, and of course the tenor saxaphone.
