i've already managed to kill off a plant and bonsai - help me to save my other houseplants!! the ends of all the leaves are brown, just on the tips. we're talking plants that are in the right rooms for their liking according tothe plant care labels - peace lily, palm and aloe. could it be the water???

you pot could be too small. The plant needs a lot of space for its roots to grow. I only water mine 2 - 3 times a week. I give them about 1 1/2 pints. They will also need some sunlight, so if its in a dark place move it to the sun, even if its just ehen your out!
Another tip that works well with lots of plants, is to take of the dead bits as the plant throws a lot of its energy trying to recoup them!

Pot size is a common killer (!) but you must also check for cold drafts - leaving a plant by an open window all the time can cause breakages and damage to roots from the cold (especially indoor palms).
Also check the drainage of water - don't leave them standing in water as the roots will grow mold, killing the plant (and often browning the leaves). If you can be bothered, putting an inch of (large-sized) gravel at the bottom of the pot before you put the soil in can solve this!

and lack of light is always a trauma for house plants... or being on top of TV's. they dont like that!
