Whats happened to this fair lately? The annual event now seems like Fort Knox or Glastonbury. It is all fenced off with high security fencing, with tough looking security people all over the place. Last year, or year before it was all open plan and you could walk in and out at any point. The bouncers were refusing to let in a contingency of hooded asian kids, whole groups of other kids, and also not allowing dogs. Not nearly as friendly and welocming as it used to be....because they were turning away so many people it was empty inside.....Saturday evening and virtually dead..

I know that the fair that visited Longley Park had problems with gangs of kids and break ins/damage to their caravans/motorhomes so it might be something along the same lines....I myself stopped going to the 'family fun'fair because of gangs of youths everywhere some of them tanked up on white cider...

think there was a stabbing at Endcliffe park several years ago that resulted in the tragic death of a 14 year old. I guess its still a reaction to that event.

Dont remember that. That would explain the military style door personal taking an instant dislike to groups of ethnic kids. And to be frank it appeared to be only groups of asians who were stopped at the gate. Must have been a racist incident in the past perhaps?

Could there have been a terrorist threat?

That kid went to my school, I think I knew him but can't remember his name.

dont think its racist to stop gangs but to be honest alot of the people i know have had problems with asian kids when they have been walking around, am sure they would stop a gang of white kids or anyone that looks like there just going to cause trouble
