Recently moved to Crookesmoor, about 10 minutes walk from Sheffield University arts tower. Was wondering what my local team would be now, Wednesday or United? I reckon I live a bit closer to United but not sure about this. Can someone with a better geographical knowledge of Sheffield than me answer this question?

Well mate, I'm a firm believer in supporting your local team. Been to watch both teams many times and always enjoyed it, whether I've been at Brammal Lane or Hillsborough. I also quite like Neil Warnock- he's passionate and impeccably honest , nowt wrong with that IMO.

If you live at Crookesmoor your local team would be AFC Woodseats who play at Goodwin. Free entry!!!

You could always go and watch Hallam FC (it's less painful walking home downhill if they lose!)

Is the Fortress a rugby league ground? Would love to get to a rugby league game at some point. Seems like a sport you have to be well hard for :D

Don't know about Fortress but Hillsborough Hawks play in Hillsborough Sports Arena and its only down the hill from Crooksmoor.

Its on the way to the holy grail of local football in Sheffield. The air is so much purer on the North side of Sheffield, especially in S6. I'm sure you'll find Bumall Lane smells of pork

Went down and had a wee look at their ground yesterday afternoon. For the oldest ground in the world, it's in pretty good shape
The pub opposite, the Plough, looks quite nice from the outside. Strange though that the club is based in such a posh area.

Will have to get to a game there once the new season starts.

It's a tricky one that because Keith started his career at the club closed to my heart, Linfield of Belfast, wheras Chris was born and brought up in my native South Belfast. So I do feel a certain affinity towards both those players and their clubs.

But Keef is a leg-end :)

I've heard stories about the team bus having to double back on itself while Keef was on international duty because they'd forgotten him in the hotel bar!
