I was just wondering what this area is like. Was thinking of getting a flat there through the council although i'd rather buy.
Keep getting outbidded for every property I go for! Been trying to buy a flat or 2 bedroom house for 8 months now.
If Firshill is near Firvale/Page Hall ( areas which have really gone down hill over the years), then its not such a nice surrouding area but look it up before you take my word for it as I,m not 100% sure.
Its a very multi ethnic area. No doubt about that
Ideal for the hospital ,town centre and meadowhall
Firshill is OK. Until a few years ago it was a place where the were mainly old people, but now the council have started moving a few other families there. On the whole there is little trouble. It is also NOT a very multi-ethnic place, Firshill is NOT Firvale. Over 80% of the people are white English pensioners (like my mum).
The local amenities aren't all that great. I've always wondered why there isn't one supermarket in the Pitsmoor area. Surely Lidl or Aldi or Netto would go down great with the locals. There is Tesco on Herries road at Shirecliffe or the stuff in town.
The bus routes are however plentiful (providing you're not waiting on Firshill Crescent)!
And it's also very very quiet.

Surely that must annoy every single Shefillian, having all this biddling lark - a bit like eBay really.

And it's also very very quiet. Agreed, that says it all and this info is correct.
