Well after originally stating he wished to carry on in the international stage he has decided now is the time, along with juninho to retire from international football.

it looks like there may be a major overhaul of players for the brazil squad, and i think they will struggle unless decent replacements are found fast. yes they have a great attacking line and that can win you a lot, but they will be found wanting against bigger teams like the argies/spain.
with cafu/carlos/juninho/gilverto/gilberto/emerson/ricardinho/dida/cena/ze roberto all over 30 as it currently stands it really does look quite daunting for the samba boys.
also ronaldo/cesar/lucio/juan/cris/mineiro/ronaldinho/cicinho (just) will all be 30+ it really does show you the state brazil MAY be in the next time thw WC resurfaces.
thats 10 players who will be too old to really cut it, and a further 8 who will have gone past peak
