Anyone know what all the fuss was abouth this morning about 08.25 with four high powered BMW/Audi vehicles driving like lunatics down The Common in Ecclesfield?

I was trying to turn right at the Mill Road/The Common traffic light junction when these 4 idiots over took several car waiting for the red lights and near collided with me and another vehicle turning left. From the look of the cars, the occupants and the arrogant way they were driving, I assume they were something to do with the police, but maybe I am wrong?
