Went and had a coffee at Utopia today and thought it was the best I'd had anywhere and what a nice place too. Does anybody else know of somewhere better ?

Utopia is fab, the coffee is great and the service is always with a smile. ooh and the cheesecake with berries and cream is yummmmmmm.


The only downside is that it needs some kind of air-con as it gets a bit smokey and hot.

The place is too small to have a smoking bit, please ban it!

Cafe #9 on Nether Edge Road do a mean espresso - not recommended for insomniacs.

have you tried the 'Coffee in a Can' yet? you can get it from most service stations, comes in various flavours and is kept in a special 'heated fridge' or should that be 'oven' and the cans are the same size/shape as redbull cans.
i bought one (ill try ew't me)
it was bit expensive £1 (i think)
and once the can was open it went cold rather quickly
other than that, i thought it was quite nice,
but nothing to write in a forum about ;)

it's amazing! it tastes pretty good, i was suprised. any places/newsagents in sheffield do it that anyone knows of??

Whatever happened to the self heating Nescafe coffee in a can? Tasted like cats weewee, and you only got two mouthfuls, but a godsend at the Reading festival first thing in the morning!

I shall have to try Cafe 9 as I'm a bit of a coffee fiend! I quite like Utopia - though prefer the Lounge Bar for coffee on West Street. The best coffee all round though still has to be Nonnas which is like drinking liquid heaven!

I tired Nonnas but was a bit disappointed but i think i must have been in a bad mood because everyone rates it as the best.

Where is this utopia place? it sounds like just my place as coffee and cheesecake are my all time greatest treats.

One place to try for coffee on west Street is the Restaurant just next to the Oxfam book shop and the tattoo parlour, they do the best Turkish coffee I ever had.

Not to everyone’s taste I admit but a real caffeine hit, for those that love it

Its the strange round glass building in the middle of the West One collection of shops. Their expresso type coffees are fab - but I wasn't that keen on their caffatierres! I shall have to try the Turkish Coffee - do they do apple tea as well?

I get a large latte and pain au chocolat there every morning. Top stuff, Lavazza beans etc. Nice people, smoking allowed.

Is that the one on West street roughly opposite the new lil Tesco - always seems to be staffed by very cute lil punkettes/gothettes? If so they do amazing expresso which you almost have to eat rather than drink!

That's Cafe Moco. A great coffee shop, and non-smoking during lunchtime :thumbsup: .
