I was wondering if any one could tell me of a nice spot in the peaks, not too far from a bus route, to go for an outdoor swim?
Thanks

Not sure if it's still open, but the outdoor Pool at Hathersage should be pretty much exactly what you're after.

Should be quite nice out there as well if this Heatwave the Government's on about comes to anything.

The river at Chatsworth is good too!

Pool at Hathersage is heated though, and probably safer, less rocks and stuff to hurt yourself on.

We go swimming at Chatsworth in the summer. The problem with Hathersage pool is that it gets full in the hot weather and you have to queue up for about 2 hours.

There has been another thread about this that might be of help, quite a good thorough one too. Do a search under, let me see, Paddley Gorge, and see what gives.

Yep, it's still open. Well worth a visit. Gets busy at school holidays though.....

Does the pool at Hathersage cost? How much?

Not quite in the peaks, and I don't know about bus routes, but there was quite a good outdoor pool at Alfreton - which I think still opens in the summer school holidays.

Slippery Stones is also very good. More of a natural pool.

The only problem with the pool at Hathersage is, it feels like you're at a 1970's Hi-De-Hi camp.

Go if you like, but Ho-de-Ho-De-Ho.
