When I go to my LOCAL SETTINGS folder there is a APPLICATION data folder that holds a Google file that has the following in it, Google Earth "size 404 MB" when I open this it has three items in it they are

db cache NERO SHOW TIME size 402 MB
db cache.data.index 2.63 MB
Icons (google) 156 KB

When I click the Nero Show time one (402MB) to play it I get a box on screen saying "cannot play this media file (0x80040265)

The 402MB one is taking a lot of space up my hard drive will it do any harm to delete it

Thanks

you use google earth?

looks like a cache file, id say should be ok
but im not 100% sure tbh
never used google earth

id say create a system restore point so if it does cause an error you can go back (not sure it counts as user data tho so would actually be affected by system restore)

Yes I have got Google Earth on my computer I have been informed that you can alter the cache limit via TOOLS in Google Earth, have done this down from 400 t0 20 MB but I have now found in LOCAL SETTINGS a TEMP folder with 394 MB in it can these have been transfered from Google Earth and can i get rid of them

Thanks

instead of deleting

try moving the file to somewhere else, if the program doesnt complain (try rebooting aswell) it "should" be ok to delete, it may create a new cache file

You can clear the cache from within google earth itself.

Tools>options>cache tab

Clear memory and/or disk cache and voila!

I've got rid of Google Earth in favour of this. http://local.live.com/. Type in S1 2BP, for instance.

You can view some places like Nottingham and then there is an option to 'Bird's Eye View'. Type in NG1 1JA and then choose B.E.V. You then have another two options, the zoom level for one and the option to view from the north, south, east or west. You can actually see pedestrians!.

The post codes were chosen for no particular reason, I just pointed and clicked in on another map and asked to display address.

Brilliant that one, according to that I live near the river in Saskatchewan!
I thought maybe the space confused it so I left it out, guess what I now live in Romania.(aren't I lucky?):loopy:
Anyone else tried it?

Well I typed S6 2DR for Hillsborough and it took me right next to the Football ground. It would be interesting to know what you typed in @matsalleh
