Right, i dont quite understand this, but if a ref shows a red card, and sends a player off, why do they bother arguing??
they cant bring him back on and the ref isnt going to haul out a green card to say 'come back'
I spose the only exception is distract the ref, but that only seems to work with Graeme Poll :hihi:
Cause most of em are a bit dim! Probably.

And I thought that off meant off the field of play (which includes benches, advertising areas etc).
It seems that more and more are just going and sitting on the bench/dugout area and possibly inciting further trouble. I thought the only bit that wasn;t part of the field of play was the changing room.

i always thought this too, but mourinho was banned from the dressing room too when he had his suspension!! so im not sure on this stipulaions regards it all.
as for the original question RE sending offs,
in my personal opinion the reason people argue is because they feel disgruntled, and emotions are running high. they know the ref wont be changing there mind but are annoyed at being sent off.
when i have been sent off in the past i have argued my case with referees, with in reason obviously.
