A young lady called me "proper minted" this evening, should I be pleased or what?

I've always thought "minted" meant loaded? could be wrong... :huh:

I'm sure it does... so if you are then you've been noticed for it... if ya not... she must've been a mad woman! :hihi:

That was my understanding as well..............but I'm not, and was working at the time so couldn't possibly have looked rich !!

Agreed "Mint" means cool... ace... good... tops... etc...

But "Minted" like others have agreed with me... means Loaded! :)

Some people get things wrong; see the malapropisms thread. She could have meant mint.

Proper means 'really' in some kind of street speak, ditto the above re minted. (As in 'has a mint' where you print money...)

The younger folks these days refer to someone who is 'fit' or attractive physically as 'minty' or 'mint'.

Minted - I believe still refers to personal wealth?

It used to mean rich but in this day & age it means cool, ace, nice person.

What amazes me is if you're hot, it means you look good but if you're cool you also look good.
If something is good it speaks for itself its good, but if somethings bad, its also good.
WHY?
