I think Football, especially the World Cup should be banned on terrestrial TV. Move it over to Sky or Freeview along with Wimbledon

sorry can't agree.

i think all news programs not directly related to the uk should be banned.
along with all soaps and reality programs.

if you can organise the above 'i'll support moving sport to non terrestrial tv.

Why?

There are more soaps on tv than football, even during the world cup. Do you want to move soaps to Sky as well?

On what grounds?

On the grounds you personally dont like it?

It cant be on the grounds that it isnt pandering to popularist taste. Over 20 million people tuned in for the last England match.

As a license payer, I am annoyed at the endless repeats and unimaginative crap that passes for entertainment these days. Which probably explains why I spend my TV time watching Skysports or UKTVfood.

The world cup is on once every four years. Aside from that, nearly all live football IS on Sky.

I have to disagree, I am not bothered about the world cup or Wimbledon if I am honest.

However think national sporting tournements and England matches / enterants especially should be availble and free for all

Only seeing how many hits I get on this particular subject, not bothered myself really, I just switch football off!

I wouldn't ban it because there are a few real fans amongst the millions of sheep and they should be allowed to watch significant events without paying.

What I wold ban is the way that they cancel or delay other programs in order to talk about the match afterwards. If a match goes on longer than expected (although you would think by now that they could work out why) then it seems reasonable if other programs are delayed as a result. What isn't reasonable is when it is further delayed so that people can listen to hasbeens talk about the thing they have just seen for another 30 minutes.

Frankly as someone who forks out over £500 per year for Sky plus the 'TV Licence Fee', maybe we should just ban TV?

As the old saying goes, the pictures are better on the radio.

I just wish the BBC and ITV could collaborate on a channel called TripeTV onto which junk like soaps and makeover programmes, not to mention Nosebleeds From Hell and the like could all all sit nicely together.

I do believe that Sky now have Cricket so that's one less thing to try and get rid of ;)

And while you are at it - get rid of the people who don't know the difference between 'less' and 'fewer'.

Well I think there should be more footy on terrestrial TV:D :D :D

I remember the days when both BBC1 and ITV would show the FA cup final live, so to compete with each other the build-up would start at about ten o'clock in the morning, and there'd be all sorts of stuff on like special quiz shows, exhibition games, "Jimmy Tarbuck's Celebrity Bar" etc etc - it were reet good:hihi: :hihi:

They'd each use their own cameras as well, so you could switch over and see the game from a different angle without having to hand over wads of cash to some australian megalomaniac.

I disagree with that.. To a certain extent at least, IMO Wimbledon should be on Sky this year, then the fuffing BBC wouldn't have cancelled 3 weeks' worth of Neighbours

While I have no interest in Football, there are millions of fans who love it and all I have to do is switch it off! Problem solved, so no I`m afraid we have to have it on terrestrial TV. Thats my good deed for the day, now I can go back to being objectionable.:D

you cant moan

once every two years (if you include the euro championships)

sooooooooooo......

when the world cup is NOT on and its just a normal domestic season we have all of 1 hour per week on a saturday night.

let me think.......kids go to bed....the wife has 30 mins emmerdale...30 mins coronation street/eastenders.

at an average then of...lets be generous....1 hour per night (which it never only turns out to be) 5 nights a week that makes 5 hours

so in effect i use the tv 5 times less than the wife per week and YOU want football banned?????

get real

The only things I watch on TV ARE Football and Wimbledon and maybe the odd Simpsons episode. I think its excellant that Sky haven't bought our rights to the world cup and I hope every country gets their countrys matches shown on terrestial too.

Ridiculous statement, that would immediately take away the only chance a lot of people have to watch sport on TV. Just because you dont like it does not give you the right to deprive others of watching. Have you not heard of the on / off button or the change channel option
