minimise everything then right click, choose graphic options, then reduce your screen size?
dardandec 28-06-2006, 20:56 Click on view on the tool bar then change text size to medium or whatever..
press the controll key and rotate the mouse wheel if you've got one otherwise there's a button marked "Fonts" under "Internet Options"

Have you been fiddling with your screen resolution?
Start, Control Panel, Appearance and Themes, Change Screen Resolution ~ then find the resolution that best suits you.
Before doing that, btw, try rebooting ~ it could be just a glitch.
nikkitheowl 28-06-2006, 21:37 i am so not technical:loopy:
ok ok, ill have a go.. big u say?
on the desktop- thats the one with the wallpaper and all the icons, Right click, a little menu comes up. Click on Graphic properties. A weird little box comes up, grey in colour i think. Click on 'display settings' and then adjust the 'screen' resolution to '1024x768'
Should do the job, sorry if i sound patronising

hi, not patronising at all, i have tried this and its making everything too small now, if i want to view a page i have to turn my favorites off and move the arrows across so that i can read full page, before i didnt have to to this. could it have something to do with the fact that we have re-installed windows?

sounds like its the default video setting
maybe its not found the correct driver for your video card?
go into display panel / settings/advanced - check the correct display adapters set
and monitor etc
you could also try changing the dpi setting

Is the problem just in your internet browser?
nikkitheowl 02-07-2006, 19:25 dunno, i only use the internet.
right if the entire screen is coming up with text and pictures that are too big then you've probably adjusted the screen resolution somehow, or worst case you've gone back to the vga driver
so close all your applications and right click on a blank area of screen, select "Properties" and then the tab marked "Settings" you shouls have a small section with a slider control in saying "Screen resolution" slide it to the right to increase the screen resolution, this will have the effect of making all the text and graphics appear smaller
if it won't slide far enough for you then it's probably the driver gone walkabout and you've defaulted to the default vga driver
so close everything again click "Start" > "Control Panel" if the pane on the left has a link that says "Switch to Classic View" at the top then click the link, open the "System" applet, select the "Hardware" tab and then the "Device Manager" button, expand the display adapters and if the default vga adapter is in there, double click it, select the "Driver" tab and then the "Update Driver" button let it connect to the internet if it wants and see if it finds a better driver, if it doesn't then it may be your video card is going
if it's just internet browser windows that are too big then see my previous post
